Chicago_Sir Roman's resident!
"Mr O'Briens" sir Roman's butler greeted Henry with a nod.
"Where's my grandfather?" Henry asked, ignoring Simon's greeting.
"He's at the golf..."
Henry didn't let him finish his words, before pushing him out of his (Henry) way and he headed straight towards the golf course's direction.
He balled his fist as he went, it seemed as though he's quite upset about something.
He arrived at the golf course in no time, his eyes scanned the whole place.. but his grandfather is nowhere in sight.
He narrowed his eyes and gritted his teeth.
"Simon said he's here, where is he?" He growled lowly.
Just when he was about to leave, he heard his grandfather's voice behind him.
"I heard someone barged into my home, who's that audacious lamb?"
Henry turned around at once, his grandfather walked past him into the course.
"Grandfather... "
"Why did you barge in like that? Have you lost your manners?" Sir Roman sneered.
Henry simply bowed his head, he followed sir Roman to a table under an umbrella.
"I'm sorry if I was being rude, grandfather, but I just heard a disturbing news" Henry said.
Sir Roman sat down, one of his guards handed him a coconut drink.
"What news could make you panic so much?" He asked.
Henry pulled out a chair and sat down, he reached for his phone and started typing on it.
"Here, grandfather"
He handed his phone to sir Roman, one of sir Roman's guards collected it and showed it to him.
"It's news from Las Vegas, my spy sent it to me this morning"
"What's the news about?" Sir Roman asked.
Not even bothering to lift his head or take a look at the phone, he wholly focused on his coconut drink.
"Our plan failed again" Henry answered.
Sir Roman stopped sipping his drink, he lifted his head and stared at the phone this time.. he read the news content.
"Jade was caught, beaten up and rushed to the hospital.. she's currently in a coma" Henry explained.
His grandfather clenched his jaw, he balled his fist and banged on the table.
"She must have slipped and left a flaw, the plan was so perfect!" He growled lowly.
Henry sneakily peeped at him, then smirked. It seemed like he knows something about this.
"Who?"
"Huh?"
"Who caught her?!"
Henry frowned slightly and thought about it for a moment, then recalled something.
"It's her sister... Jasmine"
"Jasmine?"
"Yes, she's the heir's mother"
Sir Roman lets out a very deep growl, from the deepest of his throat.. he gritted his teeth tightly.
"She's becoming more and more of an obstacle.."
He trailed off, he got up and angrily threw his coconut drink away.
"... It seems we've made a big mistake, we should have gotten rid of her since the beginning"
Henry got up too.
"What should we do now? It seems we can't achieve our goals if we continue like this.."
He collected his phone from the guard, he pressed a few buttons and shoved it in his front pocket.
"... grandfather, we need a concrete plan this time. Let's hit the O'Briens once and for all"
His grandfather turned to face him, he nodded at his words and tapped his shoulder.
"Let's do what we should have done earlier" he paused.
"What is that, grandfather?"
Sir Roman sat back on his chair, he leaned back on the chair and crossed his legs.. then sighed.
"Kill 'em all!" He said.
"Kill them?"
He nodded.
"But how are we sure we'll get the documents if we kill them?"
"One at a time, I'll make arrangements for that later" sir Roman replied.
"Arrange some men and get the job done! The earlier, the better!"
"Yes, grandfather!"
Henry turned to leave, but his grandfather stopped him.. he turned slightly to face him (sir Roman).
"Make sure you leave nothing behind to trace it back to us, I need a clean job done!"
"Yes!" Henry replied and hurried off.. though not before glaring at his grandfather.
When he's (Henry) outside sir Roman's mansion, he pulled out his phone and stared at it.. he smirked.
He's been recording their conversation, he quickly sent it to an unknown number and also saved it in his phone.
He shoved his phone back in his pocket and continued his journey, with a satisfied smile.

Jasmine's pov 👙
I checked the time on my phone and groaned, I'm standing outside the retirement home waiting for Thanatos to come pick me up.
He said he's coming, but I've been standing here for almost a hour he's still not here yet.
I wonder what's keeping him.
I reached for my handkerchief and damped off some sweat from my face... It's not afternoon yet, but the sun is already soul draining.
Just at that moment, I saw Thanatos car approaching me. He stopped in front of me and stepped out, he flashed me a smile.
"Baby" he kissed my lips softly.
He looked behind me, he must be checking wether ma Gloria came with me.
"You said she's ready to talk to me, why isn't she with you?" He asked.
"Let's get in the car first" I replied.
He hesitated a bit, but got in the car when he saw I'm already standing by the passenger seat... I opened the door and entered the car.
My flicked towards the entrance of the retirement home, I saw a man watching me.
That must be one of the spies, I just hope he doesn't harm ma Gloria after my departure.
Thanatos started the car and drove it into the road.
"You sounded as if it wasn't convenient for you to talk there" he said.
"Yeah, she said there are spies stationed there"
He nodded. "So... what did she tell you?"
"Nothing, she said she'll talk to you...she also said you should make arrangements to get her out of there"
He frowned slightly.
"I guess she's scared those spies might stop her from telling you anything, so you should be careful when getting her out"
"Yes, ma!" He replied. "I'll get her out tonight"
There is a brief silence between us, the car jolted to a halt at a red light.
"Your mom...I can just take you back home if you don't wanna see her now" he said.
I rested my head on the window, I stared outside and watched a kid sitting by a corner in tattered clothes.
If it wasn't for Arthur, I would have ended up like this kid.. I would have been a street kid.
"Baby?"
"Yeah" I tore my gaze away from the kid and faced him.
"I was asking if you want me to take you to the hospital.. or home" he repeated his words. "You know your mom is at the hospital" he added.
Mom... she wasn't as hostile as my dad towards me, she was lenient and comforted me every time dad scolded me.
But I got pregnant and left home, I don't know if she's mad at me or not.
It's been five years since we last saw each other, I don't know what to say to her when I see her.
"Hm, I guess we're going home then"
"No!" I said quickly.
He squinted his eyes at me.
"Let's go to the hospital" I said.
I won't know if she's mad at me, unless I see her and talk to her.
"Are you sure?"
I nodded. "Yeah"
"Alright, let's go!" He said.
The red light flicked to a green light, Thanatos stepped on the gas and zoomed off.

My feet ran cold when I arrived outside the door of Jade's ward, I played with my fingers nervously.
Behind this doors is my mother, I don't know what to say to her or how to react after five years.
"Baby..." Thanatos trailed off.
He placed his hand at the lower part of my back, he gestured towards the door but I shook my head.
"Wait... I'm feeling nervous" I said.
He held my face in his hand and smiled at me, he kissed my forehead.
"It's just your mother and sister inside, you'll be fine.. besides, you have me here" he said.
I took deep breaths and nodded, he grabbed the handle and pushed the door open.
We both stepped in and my eyebrows furrowed instantly at the sight before me... I faced Thanatos.
"You said it's just my mom and Jade, what is he doing here?" I asked pointing at my dad.
"I.. I didn't know he came along"
"But you sounded so sure that it was just my mom and Jade"
He released a hysterical laugh.
"Baby, I'm not God, I'm not omnipresent"
I glared at him and elbowed his ribcage, he groaned quietly.
"Traitor!"
At that moment, my mom lifted her head and saw me, she stared at me briefly, then broke into a smile.
Within seconds, she's already running towards me with her arms spread open...she engulfed me in a tight hug.
I tensed, cause I don't even know how to react.. I wasn't expecting this reaction from her, she ought to be angry at me.. but she doesn't seem like it.
"Ja.. Jas..." she stuttered.
She sniffled and before anything else, she's started sobbing. Not knowing what to do, I wrapped my arms around her.
"My daughter.. my child.. I'm sorry.. I'm so sorry.." she sobbed.
Why is she apologizing? Aren't I supposed to be the one apologizing? I was the one that got pregnant and left home.
"... I'm really sorry.."
She untangled herself from the hug, she held my face in her hands and stared at my face.
A gasp left my mouth when I saw her face, I thought she was just sobbing.. I didn't know she was actually crying.
Her face is a crying mess, her eyes are red and puffy as if she's been crying for a long time.
Maybe she's been crying since she saw Jade on a hospital bed.. after all, my mom love her children equally.
"Mom.." I called her quietly.
"My child, I'm sorry.. you must have suffered a lot, I'm sorry.. I couldn't do anything, I tired reaching you but..." she trailed off and continued crying.
"You tried reaching me?" I asked in surprise.
"Yes, but I couldn't talk to you, I'm so sorry.."
Wait.. could it be she's the mysterious woman who's been calling me.. and sobbing?
"It's ok, mom, I'm at fault too, I left home in a hurry"
She shook her head.
"No, you were never at fault, you were just a teenager and mistakes are bound to happen, it's just..."
Mom trailed off and glared at dad, dad looked away from her.
I frowned when I took in my dad's outfit, he's hearing thick clothes and gloves as if he's sick.
"... It's just that, someone was too blind to see the bigger picture.. and created havoc in the family!"
I sniffled a laugh, mom is just like Adele..
She might be quiet on normal days, but she's ready to unleash her smart mouth on anyone that needed to be taught a lesson.
"I've really missed you, my child" she said.
"I missed you too mom"
She looked behind me, she smiled at Thanatos.
"He must be my son-in-law"
"Yes, mom" Thana answered before I could.
I scoffed and rolled my eyeballs, he's already claiming the son-in-law title.. when he hasn't even wed me yet!
"You're one handsome young man" mom said.
"Mom, he's not a young man.. he's 30years old" I told mom.
Mom frowned.
"What?!" Thana exclaimed. "Baby, that's a lie, I'm just 29"
"What's the difference?" I asked.
He couldn't speak, he simply gaped at me and I winked at him in return.
Mom flicked my forehead, I groaned and rubbed it.
"Don't tease him!" She scolded me.
Why are all the people around me taking Thana's side?
Davis is already ganging up with him against me! Even mom that have been separated from me for years now, she only met Thana for the first time.. but she's already taking his side too!
What charm is he using on them?!
"Where's he?" She asked.
"Where's who?" I asked back in confusion.
"My grandson" she replied.
I narrowed my eyes.
"How did you know my child is a boy?" I asked.
"Arthur told me" she replied simply.
"Arthur?"
"Yes, he's been sending me his pictures over the years.. but I'm happy I'm gonna see him in person today..."
She paused and looked behind me again.
"... where is he?"
Now I understand why Arthur always stole some of Davis's photo from our photo album.. he's sending them over to mom.
"Jas, where is he?" Mom asked anxiously.
"He's at school, mom" Thanatos answered.
The smile on mom's face wiped off, but quickly came back on.
"It doesn't matter, I'll see him after school" she said.
Mom is such a free spirited person, I had thought our meeting would be so awkward.. but here she us, talking to me as if we've been seeing each other everyday.
"Come on, your sister and father have something to say to you" she said.
I moved my gaze towards them, but they avoided my eyes.
"What's left to say?" I asked.
Jade denounced our sisterhood and dad disowned me when I needed him most...what do they have to say to me?
"I know what's going on your mind, but you have to listen to them first"
"No, I don't want to"
"Jas, don't be stubborn"
I turned away from her, she would try to persuade me now...but I don't want anything to do with those two.
"Even though you all cut ties with each other, it won't deny the fact that you're of the same bloodline"
What she said does make sense, but those two are just too selfish for my liking.
"Just hear them out... ok?"
I glared at them.

Jasmine's pov 👙
"I'm really sorry, Jas" Jade apologized.
Apologizing after raping my man? Does she expect me to just forgive her and pretend like none of that never happened?
"Jade, sorry can't cut this out, you.. you..."
I couldn't even say the word, not with my mom here.. it's such a shameful act.
"I was your sister, how could you do that to me?!"
"Was?" Mom asked, looking between Jade and I.
"Yes, she denied our sisterhood, we're no longer sisters" I answered mom.
Mom faced her with a frown, she put her hands on her waist.
"Jade, is that true?"
Jade nodded weakly, her tears rushing down her cheeks but I quickly looked away.. I don't wanna be influenced by her crocodile tears.
"Because of a man? You rejected your sister because of a man? Aren't there any other man in the universe?"
Jade didn't speak, she was simply crying silently. While me on the other hand, my body's shaking from anger.
Like I should just continue beating her up, seeing her kept reminding me of what she did.
Thanatos placed his hands on my shoulders and started massaging them softly, to help me calm down... He must have noticed my stance.
"I know was wrong, I'm sorry, I'm really sorry Jas..."
Seeing how sorry she is, I've come to realize something...she wasn't on her right senses before.
Someone must have instigated her to do whatever she did. But who is that? Who can successfully lead her astray?
"Tell me honestly, who instigated you to do it?" I asked her.
"Henry!" She answered without thinking.
Thanatos hands on my shoulders stilled, he grabbed my shoulders tightly...to the extent it's hurting me slightly.
I tapped his hand and he quickly released his death grip, he resumed his self-employed job.
"What was your aim doing that? What did you think you could achieve?" I asked.
She sniffled, she lifted her hand to wipe her tears but couldn't, I must have dislocated her shoulder when stomping on her stomach.
"He said if I can make Thanatos get me pregnant, then I can be the heir's mother... "
Jade paused and stared at dad briefly, then turned back to me.
"... I just wanted to make dad happy"
I scoffed mentally.
"Make dad happy by snatching my boyfriend? Make dad happy by raping my man?! You did all that just to make dad happy?!" I growled.
Anger shot through my veins, I'm barely holding them in.
And there's this gut is at the back of my mind, nagging me and pushing me to unleash my anger on her.
"You don't know a lot of things, dad never hated you.. he's always being protecting you"
My gaze moved to my dad, he looked away from me and I scoffed.
"Him? Protecting me?" I snorted contemptuously. "I doubt that!"
Jade laughed shortly and weakly.
"You wanna know why dad made me married into the O'Briens family?" she asked.
I stayed silent and wait for her to continue, which she did in no time.
"Our company was going bankrupt, dad had to borrow money from one sir Roman.. "
"Sir Roman?" Thana cut her off.
She nodded and continued.
".. when it was time to pay back, dad couldn't. Unfortunately, when sir Roman came to our house, he saw you and wanted to have you as his sl*t... "
Wait, who's this sir Roman? Thana seemed to know him too.. who is he?
He must be a despicable, dirty old man!
"...dad refused, that's when he met Mr O'Briens who was looking for someone to give him a grandson.. so, dad made an agreement with him.. he'll pay our depths and I would marry his son"
Hmm! Dad really did that? I can't bring myself to believe her, if he really love me, he wouldn't disowned me.
"Dad love you very much, he just doesn't know how to show it... "
She paused, she tried to reach for my hands but she hissed in pain.
"... I'm sometimes envious of his love for you. He always boast about you with his friends, he always told them how smart you are"
I looked at dad again, really? Is Jade really describing this man on front of me?
"He loves me? Then why did he disowned me? Why did he let me leave?"
"He was just angry at you for a brief moment, but you're long gone before he could cool off" she explained.
Is she just defending him? Or she's really telling the truth? I turned my gaze to mom, she nodded in agreement to Jade's words.
"Jasmine, no father would be happy his daughter whom he loves so much.. whom he cherished so much got pregnant in highschool... " Mom trailed off.
She tore her gaze from me and focused on dad.
"...at first I didn't understand him, but I realized how his love for you when I heard him talking to someone on the phone"
Mom faced me back, she smiled and sighed.
"Do you know Elvis Costello?" she asked.
"Yes, he's our manager at the restaurant where I work" I replied.
"Your dad made him work there, to take care of you and keep an eye on you"
"Huh?"
Elvis is working for dad?!
"Yes, he reports back to your dad about everything going on in your life.. and those bonuses he gives you, they're all from your dad"
"Elvis... Dad.. " I'm speechless.
I thought I was independent all these years, but that's been a lie. My dad's money... I thought those bonuses were my hard work.
No wonder Elvis never fire me for any of my mistakes or tardiness...now I understand why he's being lenient with me.
"My child, your dad never abandoned you...he was just angry that you ruined his plans for you" mom said.
I felt something wet dropped on my hand, that's when I realized I'm crying.. I stared at my dad.
"The only mistake your dad made, was not finding out who impregnated you"
This means dad knew nothing about the O'Briens family conflict, he only wanted Jade to marry into their family to save me?
And here I was thinking he's doing it for his company alone.
"Jas, your dad isn't a bad man..."
"That's enough, those are just... " He sighed. "... I was just making up for my sins" he told mom.
I shook my head, I got up and walked towards him. I stopped in front of him and fell on my knees.
"Dad... "
"Jasmine, what are you doing?" Dad asked.
He reached forward and tried to pull me up, but I shook my head.
"I'm sorry.. I.. I misunderstood you, I was... I was a fool" I cried.
"No, no, I didn't give birth to a fool, I'm at fault too"
"No, you're not.. I'm sorry, forgive me dad..."
"Get up first" he said.
He forcefully pulled me up, I quickly wrapped my arms around him and continued crying on his shoulder.
"Dad... "
"Jasmine"
He chuckled when he couldn't unwrap my hands, he sighed.
"I guess I forgot how strong you are" he laughed at his own joke.
He pat my back gently.
"Fine, let's forget about the past and focus in the present" he said.
I nodded but didn't pull away from him, I continued crying.
All these years, I've blamed him for being a ruthless father, I've cursed him, hated him and called him all kinds of names in my heart.
But I was too young to understand his intentions for me, I was too rash!
"Ahem" dad cleared his throat.
I pulled away from him, wiping off my tears. Mom came to my side and hugged me sideways, she smiled at me.
"Can you forgive your dad and sister now?" she asked.
Without hesitation, I nodded my head. I heard dad heaved a relief sigh, while Jade broke into a smile.
"So... you're the bast*rd that ruined my daughter's future?!" Dad growled at Thanatos.
Thanatos stood in shock, he's staring at dad as if he's scared. He opened his mouth slightly, as if he wanted to say something.. but decided against it.
"Dad..." Jade called him weakly.
Dad cleared his throat again.
"I know I haven't been a good father to Jasmine these past years..."
He trailed off, his gaze focused on the ceiling when he said that.. he inhaled deeply.
"... and I know I don't have a say in her affairs any more..."
He smiled at me, then faced Thanatos.. he walked closer to him (Thanatos) and stopped in front of him.
He grabbed Thana's collars, then narrowed his eyes at Thanatos.
"... but I won't sit back if hurt her! I might be a bad father, but I'll be a deadly man if my precious daughter is hurt!" Dad growled in his face.
Thana's eyes bulged out of their sockets, I don't know if he's faking it or if it's real.. but there's fear in his eyes.
"Y-yes" Thanatos stuttered shortly.
Dad let go of him and went back to the chair he was sitting, he sat down and nodded.
"At least, I can die and rest in peace..."
"Shut up, Donald!" Mom cut him off.
He quickly shut up and looked away from mom's glare, I bite back a laugh and shook my head.
I caught sight of Thana checking his wrist, I checked the time on my phone too and realized we've spent so time here.
Thana must have other things he wanna do, like making arrangements of getting his mom out of the retirement home.
"Mom, dad, it's almost time we pick Davis up from school.. I think we should get home and prepare lunch awaiting his arrival" I said.
Mom's smile grew wider, she nodded in agreement.
"Alright, I'll have Arthur bring me over later, I want to see my grandson" she said.
I nodded, before leaving, I faced Jade.
"I'll forget about what you did, but don't let me catch you and my boyfriend in a compromising position again... "
I trailed off and looked between her and Thana.
"... I'll kill both of you!" I snarled.
Jade shook her head frighteningly, which made me smirk.. I grabbed Thana's hand.
"Let's go!" I said.
He nodded and turned to my parents.
"Take care, dad, mom"
"Take care of my daughter!" Dad replied.
I rolled my eyeballs at his words, like we just got reunited and he's being an overprotective dad.
"Yes, sir" Thana said.
I pulled him along and we headed towards the door, he grabbed the handle and pushed it open.. then we stepped out.

We exited the hospital building and approached Thanatos car, it was parked a few meters away from the building.
"Is it really time to pick Davis from school?" He asked.
"You're such a dummy, thankfully, Davis inherited my intelligence!" I said.
"Huh?" He asked dumbly.
"I was making up an excuse, so you can go make arrangements to get your mom out.. do you understand now?" I explained to him as if I'm explaining to a five years old.
"Oh.. ah!" He nodded his head.
"Dimwitted human!" I insulted him under my breath.
Thankfully, he didn't heard me, else he'd have choked me to death.
"Well, I know you'll be very busy soon.. before you get yourself busy, please give me a ride to Mike's kitchen"
He scoffed.
"Whoa! I thought you're very rich, you're gonna board a cab"
I balled my fist beside me, grabbed his collar and pulled him down.. I wanted to land my fist on his face but he caught my hand.
"Baby, if you punch me.. our baby will be ugly" his eyes flicked to my stomach as he said that.
"What?"
I looked down at my flat tummy, my brows furrowed in a frown.. I lifted my head and sighed.
"Are you hallucinating? Me? There's no way I'll get pregnant, so don't worry about our baby being ugly"
I wanted to kick his groin but he caught my leg too, I glared at him and snatched my leg from him.
"You're so mean!" I barked at him.
I marched towards his car, grabbed the door, pulled in open and slide in.. then shut it with a bang.
He rushed towards me, he stood outside my window and wanted to talk to me, but I wind up on him.
He sighed and rounded the car, he got into the driver's seat and turned to me.
"To Mike's kitchen!" I commanded him.
"Yes, ma'am" he replied.
He started the car without saying anything, he drove off.

Mike's kitchen!
"Alright, thanks for the ride, my dimwit" I teased Thana after alighting his car.
He got out of his car, he leaned on against his car...which made him sexier and hotter than he already is.
"Now you're being ungrateful" he replied.
I stuck out my tongue at him, then bounced into Mike's kitchen.
I stopped at the entrance, blew him a kiss, he caught it and shot it at his heart.. then winked at me.
"I love you!" I mouthed and created a heart shape with my fingers.
"I love you, baby!" He shouted, calling some attention to us.
My face heated up, I gave him a short wave and ran in.
Giggling along as I headed towards the counter, to report to duty.. but I bumped into someone.
"Jasmine Reinle!" A familiar female voice growled.
I released a nervous laugh, then took few steps back and wanted to run away from her.
She caught my surplus dress and turned me around... I grinned widely.
"Hey.. Adele" I laughed.
She kept a straight face.
"How's work today?" I asked.
She didn't speak, her face remained blank.
"I.. I should go report..."
"You're so gonna regret making Elvis scold me and deduct my salary!" She growled in my face.

I parked outside my penthouse, I alighted the car and headed towards the main door.
"Mr O'Briens!" Peter called and rushed to me.
"Did you get my message? Is everything ready?"
"Yes, sir.. we're ready at your command" he replied.
I nodded, he pushed the door open and I stepped in.
"Sir, I received the recording"
"Quick, come show it to me" I said.

Mike's kitchen!
"Arrrrrrrgh!"
Adele lets out a screeching sound, I covered my ears at once and shot her a glare.
Luckily, we're out customer's coverage, else some of them would have been giving us weird glances.
"Shut up!" I scolded her.
She slapped her hands on her mouth, but doesn't stop screaming. When she's had enough, she stopped.
"I knew you'd react this way, that's why I brought you to the locker room" I told her in warning tone.
She scoffed and shrugged off my words, crazy female.
"You mean, Elvis was sent here by your dad.. to watch over you?" She asked.
"Yeah"
"Now it all makes sense!" She exclaimed.
"What makes sense?". I asked.
She got up, I sighed and rolled my eyeballs.. she's about to make it dramatic.
Her hands behind her, she paced to and fro in front of me...she tilted her head as though she's thinking.
"Our behaviors throughout these years should have gotten us fired, but it didn't"
Adele nodded her head, she stopped pacing and reached out her hands.
"Let me count our merits and demerits... I'll start with our demerits"
She cleared her throat and began.
"We always come to work late, you always give the wrong orders..."
"Wait" I cut her off with a small frown. "How come it's only me that give the wrong orders?"
"Baby, you do it all the time, but I don't... that's your habit"
"Pot calling kettle black!" I mumbled.
I shook my head, giving the wrong orders is clearly her habit, everyone in the restaurant knows that.
"We usually skip when it's our turn to clean... Now, let's count our merits"
"Do we have any?" I asked.
Adele released a laugh, she waved off my words.
"Of course we have, we can't be all that bad" she said.
Hmm, she's right.
"Already, let's hear it, knock it off" I told her.
She cleared her throat again.
"Well, we... we... we... "
I tilted my head, while she paused to think.
"We... we... "
She stopped talking and sat down, she put her elbow on the table and rested her head in her hands.
"We don't have any" she said.
I laughed briefly at her expression, she glared at me and I quickly sobered up.
"Like seriously, it's obvious we're his favorites because he was sent here to watch over you... "
She trailed off and gasped loudly, like she just remembered something.
"... maybe he has always hated us because we give him headaches, who knows if he's being secretly killing us in his heart!"
"Adele, you really need to stop watching K-dramas" I said.
"No, I'm serious, who knows how many times he's been stabbing us in his house"
"Ahem!"
We tensed when we heard Elvis clearing his voice behind us, we turned our heads slowly like they normally do in the movies.
"Elvis?" Adele and i asked, as if we can't see him clearly.
"Yes, it's me, Elvis" he answered.
Adele and I laughed nervously, she tapped my shoulder and laughed dramatically sweet.
"I told you, Elvis is such a great guy... If he wasn't already married, I would have gotten some of his hotness!" She laughed again.
My eyes grew wide, wasn't she just badmouthing him?
Elvis laughed at her silly excuse, he grabbed both our ears and pulled us up.
"Right... unfortunately I'm married with three kids!"
I winced when I felt my ear started hurting, I tapped his hand to let go, but the devil just held it tighter.
"You thought I'm deaf, right?"
We both shook our heads, desperately wanting him to let go of our ears right now.
"I heard everything you said, perfectly clear.. you see that shelf?" He asked.
Adele and I managed to twist our necks, truly there's a shelf there.
"I've been standing there, now, there's no way for you to escape... You'll stay behind and clean the restaurant today!" He growled in our ears.
I laughed.
"Elvis, we can talk about this... "
"There's nothing to talk about!" He cut me off. "You'll clean every single spot, I want everywhere sparkling clean!"
With that he started pulling us towards the Janitor's room, we tried to resist but Elvis is a man after all.
"We can negotiate" Adele said.
"Go tell your boyfriend that" Elvis growled in her ear.
"Jas, Elvis is our doom!" Adele sighed dramatically.
Elvis scoffed loudly and continued pulling us along by our ears.

I stopped wiping the table and reached for my phone, I checked the time and sighed deeply.
"Adele, let's stop for today, we'll continue tomorrow morning" I said.
Adele stopped mopping the floor and walked towards me, she used the towel hanging around her neck to wipe her face.
"Why are we stopping, let's just finish everything today"
"It's time to pick Davis up, I can't let Mich stay in school till 7pm" I replied.
She reached for a bottle of water in my bag, she popped the cover open and took a few gulps.
"You're right, besides, I should go get dressed... I'm meeting Clark's parents today"
Just then, we saw Elvis approaching us.
We quickly got up and pretended as though we're still working, we'll wait until he's gone home.. then we'll leave.
"Alright, ladies, I know you're tired" he said.
Adele and I paused, we faced him.
"You can leave, the other girls will do the rest parts tomorrow"
"Yay!" Adele and I exclaimed happily, we high-five each other.
"You can go home" he said.
"Thanks, Elvis" we both thanked him.
We gathered the cleaning supplies we brought, then headed towards the Janitor's room to keep them back in their place.
"Wait" he stopped us.
I groaned mentally, wondering why he's stopping us now.
"Don't think I'm pretending to like you, because your dad sent me to watch over you..."
He smiled at us.
"... you're both my favorites, because you're hardworking. When you set your mind on something, you don't give up easily"
Is he talking about Adele and I? Or there's someone behind us? I sneakily looked behind me, there's no one.
"Elvis, we're like the laziest waitress here" Adele said.
Elvis shook his head.
"No, you're not. Yes, you're not as fast as other waitresses, but you do your job diligently and that's why you're more hardworking than them"
"Oh" Adele and I nodded in understanding.
"And... You're funny too, whenever I'm having a bad day, I always come to you with an excuse of something you did wrong.. just so you can make me laugh"
We frowned.
"Does that mean, we're never wrong? You blame us injustice?"
He smirked.
"Yeah, now get your a*ses off!"
We laughed, then headed off to the Janitor's room.

"With this record we can put them behind bars" Peter said.
Thanatos nodded, he shoved the flash in his pocket.. they had just finished listening to the record.
"The men you talked about, where are they now?" Thanatos asked.
"Stationed outside the retirement home, sir" he replied.
Thanatos got up, he reached for his phone and dialed Clark's number.. Clark picked up after a few rings.
"Yo, buddy" Clark's voice emerged.
Thanatos frowned at the sound of his voice, he tilted his head.
"Are you banging someone?"
"What?! No!" Clark exclaimed quickly. "Adele will just cut off my head and use it as a dog neck chain"
He laughed at his own joke, while Thanatos cringed.
"Well, at least we have someone who can put you in your place" Thanatos said.
He cleared his throat.
"Right.. about the getaway car?"
"It's ready, but I'm gonna be leaving immediately we get her out.. I have a date"
Thanatos rolled his eyeballs.
"It's not a date, your parents are inviting you and Adele over for dinner"
"It's a date, I said it's a date"
"Fine, fine, whatever helps you sleep at night" Thanatos replied and hanged up.
His stomach growled quietly, he held it and sighed.
"A man needs food to reimburse his energy"

A smile appeared on my face as I stared at the mirror, the woman staring back at me is very different entirely.
She's beautiful, noble, full of confidence and carries the aura of a queen.. this is what Clark's parents wants to see.
"Aunt Adele, you're beautiful" Davis said.
I winked at him and flashed him a smile.
"Thanks, baby" I leaned down and kissed his forehead.
He pushed me away with his tiny hands and wiped his forehead.
"Cooties!" He shouted.
He turned to his momma and pointed at his forehead, then threw me a glare.
"Momma, aunt Adele gave me cooties" he cried.
I gaped at him, wasn't he just complimenting my look? What a little traitor!
"Sorry, baby, momma will kiss the cooties away" Jasmine said and kissed his forehead.
"Much better?" She asked him.
"Yeah" he replied with a smile.
Jasmine opened his backpack, she pulled out a book and placed it in front of Davis.
"Here, draw momma, daddy and little Davis.. ok?"
Davis nodded quickly and happily, he reached for his backpack and searched for his pencil.
Jasmine averted her gaze to me, she smiled at me.
"You are truly beautiful, Adele" she said.
I looked at myself in the mirror again.
"Really?"
"Yeah" she replied.
But I suddenly frowned when a thought occured to me.
"But.. this is not me"
"Not you? What do you mean?" she asked.
I rested my butts on my dressing table, I kicked off my shoes.
"I'm not some rich lady, why do I have to dress up as one? How long am I gonna pretend?" I asked.
Even if we get Clark's parents approval, it'll be because they thought I'm a rich lady.
Wait...I don't know if I'm nervous, but I think I'm losing some confidence.
Besides, I kinda left a bad first impression last time we met, who knows what they're planning right now.
Jasmine smiled, she got up and walked closer to me.
"Adele"
She placed her hands on my shoulders.
"I didn't dress you up like this so you can go act like a rich lady, I just wanted you to look decent when you're meeting your future in-laws"
"Huh?"
She stared at me briefly, then smiled.
"You can always be yourself in whatever you wore, you can dress up as the queen of England.. but still be Adele"
She paused.
"You can't dress up like some crazy street girl, your in-laws will think you're irresponsible and unfit for their son"
All she's saying are just blowing past my ears, I'm nervous.
"Don't worry, Clark will stand by your side" she encouraged me.
I simply nodded, she looked at the wall clock.
"It's still quite early, let's watch some movies to while away time" she suggested.
"Ok" I replied.
Watching movies might help keep my nerves at bay.

F&F eatery!
"Thana, look carefully" Clark said beside me.
I dropped my phone on the table and nodded at him, to let him know I'm listening...my eyes remained focused at the scene before us.
We're currently sitting round a table, in a restaurant right opposite Molina's retirement home.
"I discovered something very interesting" he said again and paused.
Can he just finish his words in a go? I have very important things to do than listening to him blab about his date.
"Those security men patrolling the place, can you see them?" He asked.
I faced him and realized he's pointing at the security men guiding the retirement home.
"Yes? What's with them?" I asked, then turned my gaze back to the security men.
"They are spies, they're not real security men"
I rolled my eyeballs and shook my head, then poured him a glass of water.
"Clark, tell me something I don't know" I told him, dumping the glass of water in front of him.
"What do you mean? I gave a very useful information, don't you think you should be thanking me?"
"I already know they're fake, that's why we're sitting here... observing them" I replied him.
He kept quiet, I could feel him staring at me. He reached for the glass of water and finished it in one gulp.
He sighed dramatically.
"Anyway, I've done my part and I think I should leave since I'm no longer needed here" he said.
He got up and wanted to leave, but I pulled him back on his chair.
"Nobody is leaving, not until my mom's gotten out successfully"
Clark glared at me and shrugged my hand off him, he shook his head.
"I thought I'm useless now and you're ready to discard me"
I smacked his head.
"Quit being dramatic, this is not the time" I scolded him.
He grumbled a few words under his breath, but soon shut his mouth and we stayed in a comfortable silence.
Until...
"Right, I got Angel involved in our plan" Clark said.
I frowned slightly and faced him.
"Angel? Why did you get her involved?" I asked.
"Because she's a skilled fighter, she's the perfect substitute for your mom" he explained.
I shook my head in disapproval.
"No, we can't risk Angel's safety"
"Hey! Are you looking down on my sister?"
I sighed.
Angel's Clark elder sister, she's married and lives with her husband and three kids in Italy.
"She's great but... "
"Don't worry about her safety, have you forgotten she has her Kung Fu school...this is nothing to her"
I nodded.
"Fine.. but, how did you get her to come from Italy for this?"
"I didn't invite her for this, so don't feel too special"
I rolled my eyeballs, Clark will always be Clark.
"Well, she actually came to visit our parents, so, I mentioned this by mistake in front of her and she heard me... "
Clark mentioned it by mistake?
Now that's a lie, he purposely said it because he knew Angel must surely help..
He's my friend, no one would know him better than me.
"... so, she insisted to help even when I tried to stop her, she simply replied..."
He paused and cleared his voice, I guess he wanted to imitate her voice.
"No, Clark, I can't just sit by.. I must do something. Besides, it's been long I had a real match!"
I laughed at his face attempt to fake a woman's voice, my eyes didn't leave the security men though.
"Laugh all you can, but you'll thank me later"
"No, I'll thank you now, you've made a great contribution... so, thank you, Clark"
He slapped my shoulder.
"You're sounding too serious, anyway, Angel is around somewhere.. I just need to give her a signal and she'll show herself" he said.
"Thanks Clark" I thanked him.
I turned to Peter standing behind me.
"Our men, give them signal to start"
"Yes, Mr O'Briens"

Thanatos, Clark and Peter stepped out of the restaurant, the street is still bustling with life.
"Thana, don't you think it's still quite early to start a shooting parade?" Clark asked.
"What's the time?" Thanatos asked Peter.
Peter quickly checked his wrist watch, he faced Thanatos.
"It's 07:40pm, sir" he replied.
Thanatos balled his fist, his eyes zeroed on a particular security man.
"There's no time, you have a date and I need to get back to my family" he said.
He dipped his hand in his pocket and pulled out a whistle, he brought it closer to his lips.
"And I can't wait to get my mom out of here!"
He blew the whistle and a high-pitched sound filled the air, he looked around as he blew the whistle.
Men rushed out from nowhere, they walked towards the security men and just like that.. the security men's body began to drop, one after the other.
"What are they doing to the security men? How come they're falling?" Clark asked.
"They are snipers" was Thanatos reply.
"Oh" Clark nodded in understanding.
They watch as more security men started trooping out from different corners, Clark quickly hide behind Thanatos and clung onto him.
"F**k! I guess, we can't do this quietly like we intended to" Thanatos cursed under his breath.
Within seconds, a heavy and bloody gun fight began. People in the restaurant behind them, started running about and screaming.
Everyone is trying to look for a hideout, the once bustling street turned into a deserted village in a second.
"Well, it's good this way too.. lesser people would get hurt" Thanatos said.
He dipped his hand in his pocket and pulled out a gun, Clark gasped when he saw it.
"What are you doing with a gun? Do you even know how to shoot?"
"Clark, I took a few self defense classes"
Clark frowned.
"Why didn't I know about it? And why didn't you make me take the classes with you?"
Thanatos shut his eyes, he just realized how annoying Clark can be sometime.
"I did force you, but you fainted on the first day of class because you saw someone bleeding"
"You know I have a blood phobia"
"Clark, that was fake blood!"
Peter suddenly pushed Thanatos and he (Peter) groaned painfully and fell down, his hand flew to his shoulder.
"Peter, what's wrong?" Thanatos and Clark asked.
They quickly squat to his level, but he shook his head at them.
"The fight is getting tougher, just find a way to get out of here.. we'll bring your mother later"
Thanatos looked around, it's true.. there are some many bodies laying on the ground right now.
When did it turn into a fierce fight? He wondered.
The loud sounds of guns firing at each took over the place, one cab barely hear someone beside him talking.
"Peter rest here, I'll go inside and get my mother out"
"Mr O'Briens..."
"Clark will stay here with you"
"Me?!" Clark exclaimed.
He looked around the place, then shook his head in disagreement.. he held onto Thanatos tightly.
"Thana... Are you telling me to just wait for my death here?! What about my girlfriend?! We just did the deed.. what if she's pregnant already?! Then my child will become fatherless?!" Clark exclaimed.
Clark's eyes grew wide when he saw a bullet approaching him, it was coming at him.. he tensed and stayed frozen in a spot.
"Clark!!" Thanatos called his name, but Clark isn't moving.
Not that he doesn't wanna move, but he's in shock and can't react. Thanatos pushed him away, but he wasn't fast enough.
The bullet hit him (Thanatos) and went through his chest, just an inch away from his heart.
Thanatos gasped loudly in pain, he aimed randomly and shot at whoever shot him... he clung on his bleeding chest.
"Thana.. I think we should retreat and think of another plan" Clark said worriedly.
Thanatos focused his gaze on the retirement home ahead of him, he shook his head in disagreement.
"We must get my mom out today!" He got up and knocked Clark out.
"Peter stay and watch over him, find a hideout and hide there.. until it's all over" he told Peter.
"Mr O'Briens..."
I glared at him, but he ignored my glare and continued.
"...you can't fight with those guys, they're skilled assassins"
"Don't make me knock you out too" he said and rushed towards the gun fire battle.

Standing in the middle of this gunfire, seemed as though I'm in a action movie right now.
I never knew it's gonna end in a bloodbath, what if the cops geta here?
Peter is right, these people are skilled assassins and they can kill me in a snap... after all, that's HIS wish.
But I can't leave my mom here, they'll kill her now that they know I'm trying to get her out.
"Every other person is not important, tell him!" One of HIS assassins shouted.
Immediately, I saw bullets flying towards me, seeing as I'm outnumbered.. I decided to flee for now.
I ducked and dodged a bullet that was coming straight for my chest again, some of my men rushed towards me to shield me.
"Mr O'Briens, go on, we've got you covered" one of them said.
I nodded and raced to the entrance of the retirement door, loud gunshots are echoing behind me.. but I didn't turn back.
Just a few steps away from entering the building, a bullet shot through my shoulder... and almost immediately, another bullet hit my leg.
When I was about to turn around, another bullet hit my right shoulder...it started gushing out blood immediately.
I let out a painful groan, I turned and began shooting randomly at anyone in anger.. though I'm mindful not to hit my men.
"F**k! It hurts!" I growled.
Without waiting for someone else to come shoot me again, I turned quickly and rushed into the building.
I headed for the hallway that led to my mom's room, but two guys are already standing in the hallway.. it seems as though they're waiting for my arrival.
Alright... these two are very.. I don't even know the words to describe them.. but just know I can't win them in a fight.
"Hey.. buddy!" I waved at one of them.
They aimed their guns at me, I wanted to sneakily shoot one.. but my shoulder is suddenly too heavy to carry.
They toon slow steps towards me, my gun fell off my hand and I raised my hands to protect my face...I'm already almost sitting on the floor.
But suddenly...
"Get lost, bast*rds!"
And in the twinkle of an eye, their heads are rolling on the floor.. I blinked rapidly as I stared at the figure in front of me.
"Angel?" I whispered.
She turned to me and smiled, she pulled me.
"Long time no see, my darling Thana!"
I cringed at the name she just called me, if she wasn't married already, I'd think she's flirting with me.
"Come on, let's go get your mom" she said.
I nodded and we rushed off to mom's room, every door is locked as we run by.. we arrived in no time.
I pushed the door open and halted, my mouth fell open at what I saw.
A man is holding my mom with a knife to her neck, Angel took a step back and whispered in my ear.
"I'll be right back" she left before I could ask where she's going.
I slowly turned to face the man, he scanned me from head to toes..then asked.
"Are you Thanatos O'Briens?"
"Yes, I can do whatever you want, just leave my mother out of this"
Mom shook her head in disapproval, she wanted to say something but he's covering her mouth...hence she's only mumbling.
He scoffed.
"I don't want anything from you, I've already being paid for this..."
He trailed off, he dipped his hand in his pocket and pulled out a knife.. he threw it at Thanatos.
"Take that knife and stabbed yourself to death!"
Mom's eyes grew wide at his words, she began to shake her head...her eyes pleading me not to touch the knife.
I stared at the knife on the floor for a good amount of time.
"We can negotiate, we..." I cut myself off.
I saw Angel coming in through the window, she placed a finger on her lips shushing me.
"Do it now, or I'll help..."
Angel didn't let him finish his words, she jumped on back an snapped his neck.
Mom rushed towards me, her eyes scanned mine worriedly... the way Jasmine looks at Davis anytime he falls down.
"Thana... Are you ok?" She gaped. "Oh my God! You're bleeding! You're badly hurt!"
"Mom, let's get out of here first" I said.
She nodded quickly, I faced Angel and she smiled at me.
"Go on, I'll welcome any guest that comes in later!" She told me.
"Be careful" I replied and dragged mom out.
We were headed for the entrance again, but mom stopped me and shook her head.
"There's a back gate, it's gonna be easier to leave through there!" she said.
I nodded and we headed there. Luckily, just as she had predicted.. there wasn't any obstacles on the way.
We made it out in one piece, then I reached for my phone and dialed Peter's number... He picked at the first ring.
"Hello, Mr O'Briens"
"Send the getaway car to come get pick us up at the back gate!"
"Yes, sir" he replied.
I hanged up and shoved the phone in my pocket, just then, I felt my vision getting blurry and my breath quickened.
"Thana.. are you ok?" I heard mom asked me.
"I'm fine, let's wait for the getaway car" I replied.
"No, no, no, no... you're dying!" She shouted.
She searched herself and pulled out a small bottle, she opened it and poured whatever is inside in my mouth.
"Thana, don't close your eyes!" She yelled at me and slapped my cheeks softly.
I tried to keep my eyes open, but I'm feeling quite sleepy and my lids are getting heavier.
"Thana..."
That was all I heard, before I passed out!

The next morning...
"Is it really necessary for you guys to go there?" Adele asked.
My eyes flicked towards Peter who's carrying our bags to the car, then sighed.
"Yeah.."
She frowned at the bags Peter's carrying, then took my hands in hers and pouted.
"Why are y'all taking so much bags with you? Do you plan on settling there already?"
I frowned slightly, then burst into a brief laugh.
"Adele, we might stay for some days.. you're making it sound like I'm abandoning you"
"Are you not?" she asked.
"You're just being overly dramatic" I told her.
Just then we heard a knock on the door, I wanted to go get it but Adele told me not to bother.
Her flicked to my stomach and she smiled, she pushed me onto a sofa and made me sit down.
"You should take care of yourself now" she said, her eyes still on my stomach.
I rolled my eyeballs.
"I told you guys, this might just be a false alarm"
Honestly, I didn't want anyone to find out about this just yet, because it might be a false alarm.
But ma Gloria had her own plan, she made sure to broadcast the news this morning.. even when I was telling them not to be too excited yet.. they wouldn't listen to me.
Even Thana... He didn't react the way I had expected, I thought he'd be so surprised and stuffs but he didn't.
Although, he acted surprised, but it's clear that he was faking it.. so I guess he's long suspecting this.
"Jas?" she snapped her fingers in front of my eyes.
"Yeah?"
"Even if.." she rested her hand on my stomach. "...this was supposed to be a false alarm, God will have mercy and perform a miracle"
"Hmm" I hummed in disbelief.
She smacked my shoulder and frowned at me.
"Say amen to that!"
"Fine... Amen!" I said.
She smiled. "That's much better, I'll be right back"
Then she rushed towards the door.
My hands landed on my stomach, I rubbed it with a hopeful smile... I really pray this is true... I really wanna give my son a kid bro or kid sis.
"Jas, look who's here!" Adele said.
I lifted my head and saw my family, mom.. dad.. jade in a wheelchair.. Arthur and... Victoria?
My expression changed drastically, what is she doing here? Is she here for another fight?
Because I'm d*mn ready! I got up in a fighting stance.
"What are you doing here?" I asked her in a hostile tone.
She turned to Arthur, he tapped her shoulder comfortingly and stepped forward.
"We're not here to fight you, Jas"
"Oh, really?"
Arthur nodded.
"Yeah.. we are just here to say sorry and congratulations" his eyes moved to my stomach when he said the last part.
Victoria stepped from behind him, she stretched out a bouquet of flowers and smiled at me.
"Jasmine, I'm.. I'm sorry for how I acted before, I.. I.." she trailed off.
My shoulders relaxed, I reluctantly accepted the flowers from her.
"I was just feeling insecure and.. I'm sorry" she said.
She really does looked sincere this time, I think I should just let bygones be bygones.. after all, she didn't do any harm to me.
"Can.. can you forgive me for Arthur's sake?"
I sighed and nodded.
"Fine! But I'll hunt you down if you.."
I paused and looked at Arthur, he's also silently begging me with his eyes.. it's very obvious he loves Victoria.
I leaned closer to Victoria.
"Do you truly love Arthur?" I whispered in her ear.
She nodded quickly. "Yes"
I straightened my posture and cleared my throat.
"Then make sure you treat him with care.. or I'll hunt you down if you hurt him, Arthur mean so much to me!"
Her lips curved into a smile, she pulled me in for a hug.
"You're truly kindhearted, I'll love him and care for him as he does to me" she whispered in my ear.
I pat her back, then pulled away.
I turned my attention to my family but they're no longer waiting for me, mom is with ma Gloria and Davis.
Dad seemed like he's having a serious conversation with Thana, it's only Jade that's standing in front of me.
I sighed.
"I thought I'm their precious daughter" I grumbled.
Jade laughed and shook her head.
"I thought so too" she replied.
She pushed her wheelchair closer to me, she gestured me to sit down and I did.
"Wait.. why are you all here so early?" I asked.
"Hmm, well, we heard you're pregnant with your second baby"
I clenched my jaw and balled my fist playfully, then gritted my teeth and pumped my chest.
"Ma!!" I growled.
"Congratulations" she said.
"There's no congratulations, it might be false alarm" I told her.
She paused, she opened her hands and I put mine in hers.. she smiled.
"I'm really happy for you, Jas. You fought for your happiness, I wish could too"
I know she's talking about Thanatos and I, but kept quiet...she sighed.
"I'll be going back to Mexico with mom and dad today, then I'll leave for Rome tomorrow"
"Rome?" I asked.
She nodded and my brows knit together, what is she going to do in Rome? We don't have any family there.
"I wanna start all over again, I need a new environment to do that"
Her words just made me recalled when I was in San Francisco, I also left there and came to Las Vegas to start over again.

Peter nodded and turned to dad.

Dad pulled me into a short hug, mom also hugged me briefly.. while Jade simply smiled at me, then they headed out.
Peter and Victoria are long gone, they left because they had something to do back home.
"Baby, hold Davis for a moment, I'm..." He trailed off.
His eyes moved to his chest, there's a huge blood stain on his shirt.
"I told you to be careful or you might hurt yourself even more" ma Gloria scolded him.
"It wasn't me, it's Davis.. he must have hit it when he was dozing off" he explained.
Ma Gloria glared at him. "Stop putting blame on my grandson!"
He simply gaped at her speechlessly, she turned to me and carried Davis.
"Don't stress yourself" she scolded me.
"Baby, get me another shirt"
He took off his shirt and handed it to me, I collected it and went to my small trip bag and pulled out one of my oversized hoodie.
"Don't tell me you want me to wear that" he said, cringing at the hoodie in my hand.
"Yes, you're gonna wear it"
"But it's so girly" he complained.
I narrowed my eyes at him and threw it on his head, it's a pink hoodie but I don't care.. he should make do with it.
"Sir.. we're ready to leave" Peter said when he came in.

After our flight, which lasted for 3hours.. we arrived at Chicago.
Peter sent our bags to Thanatos penthouse, while the rest of us decided to call at the police station.
Currently, we're listening to the recorded conversation.
But while this is going on, an old man whom I just got to know as Mr Roman, is glaring daggers at ma Gloria.
"Ahem!" An officer cleared his throat. "Mr Roman, what do you have to say about this? Did you had this conversation?" He asked the old man.
Mr Roman simply glared at ma Gloria and scoffed, he refused to speak a word.
"I'll take your silence as a yes..."
"Don't waste your breath, I know you're gonna send my case to the court.. but first, I want to see my grandson" Mr Roman said.
His grandson? That should be Thana's stepbrother... I looked around but there's no unfamiliar face here, it's just us.
"Grandfather, I'm here!" An unfamiliar voice spoke from the hallway.
I turned and waited until he walked into the office or interrogation.. I don't know what this place is.
He smiled at Thana, they did a bro hug and shake hands too.
"Rate my acting" he said to Thana.
"92%" Thana replied.
"92%?!" He exclaimed.
Thana nodded.
"Yes.. if I wasn't injured, I'd have given you 100%"
"You're so mean!" He pouted.
Wait.. I'm confused. Isn't he supposed to be on his grandfather's side? Why does it seem like he's on terms with Thana?
"So, I've a fool all these while?!" Mr Roman growled.
Henry faced him and smirked, he folded his arms on his chest.
At that moment, Mr O'Briens and Henry's mother came in.. Mr O'Briens halted when he saw ma Gloria.
"Maria..." he whispered.
He took slow steps towards her, but she stepped back.
"We're here for a case" she said.
Henry's mother stared at ma Gloria when she said those words, she seemed like she wanted to say something but decided against it.
"Now I understand, I've been played all long" Mr Roman said.
He faced Henry's mother and laughed.
"Look at your son? He betrayed his own grandfather.. isn't just great?"
"Dad... I'm sorry, but we couldn't just watch you sink deeper in your sin...we wanted to help you" Henry's mother said.
"Help me? You called this helping? I'm going to jail.. is that how you're helping me?!"
Mr Roman scoffed, he shook his head in disbelief.
"How long? How long have you been helping me?" He asked.
"Since you invested in O'Briens groups, I noticed something was wrong... "
"But I was doing that to secure your future!"
Henry scoffed.
"Those words can fool my mom, not me. I realized you must be doing this for your own selfish reasons... "
Henry paused and reached for his mother's bag, he pulled out some papers and handed them to the officers.
The officers frowned when he glanced through the papers.
"... I did a thorough investigation on you, I found out you're secretly buying shares and convincing some shareholders to help you take over the company... "
So.. Henry wasn't as bad as I think? He was actually helping Thana?
Wow! They really put on a flawless act.. if I didn't witness this, I'd think they're actually archenemies!
"You foolish boy! I was doing all this for the sake of you and your mother..."
"I'd rather be a servant than accept such favors from you!"
The officer slammed the papers on the table, making silence fall on us.
"We've gotten witnesses and testimonies.. we'll fix a date and take this to court!"
Mr Roman shook his head.
"No, in court I'll be sentenced to life imprisonment, which is far worst than death" he said.
He paused and smiled at us, he locked gaze with Henry.
"You're the most foolish boy I've ever seen!" He concluded.
In a snap, before we could know what's going on.. Mr Roman's blood splashed on everyone.
Luckily, Davis was still sleeping, it wouldn't look good if he saw this.
"Wh-what just happened?" Ma Gloria asked.
A small danger fell off his hand, I gasped. How come no one noticed the dagger in his hand?
"He.. he sliced his neck" Henry's mother whispered.
I stared in horror as his head dropped on the table, wait.. don't get it twisted..his head didn't fall off his neck.
There's along moment of silence, as everyone is trying to process what just happened.
I believe this should be the end of this case, there's no sueing anyone... because Henry and his mother seemed to be on Thana's side.
Two officers came and dragged Mr Roman's body away, the officer in charge of the case sighed.
"I guess we'll have to close this case then" he said.
Thana sighed and nodded his head.
Well, I don't know if this will make me wicked, but I don't like how Roman just died...he had it too easy.
Mr Roman had his punishment way too easy! How can he just choose death so easily?!
I wanted him to serve some years in prison, but...
"Thank you, officer... we'll take our leave!" Thana said.

"Maria.. I'm sorry about what happened between us, dad was just..."
"He's not my dad, he's yours" ma Gloria snapped.
Ok, here is what's happening right now.
After we left the hospital, we came directly to Thana's father's mansion.
Henry's mother's apologizing to ma Gloria, but as you can see it's not going so well...
Everyone could felt the tension between them, even Davis that was resting his head on her shoulder (ma Gloria)... he's looking for ways to come to me.
But I smirked at him and shook my head, he should stay there.
"I'm sorry, Maria, I didn't wanna snatch Bernard from you"
Ma Gloria narrowed her eyes at her, I sighed.
Henry's mother seemed to be making things worse by her choice of words, but I could see how sincere she is.
"Bernard is not my problem, we don't even love each other in the first place"
Mr O'Briens looked sad when ma Gloria said that, he stared at her with a pained expression.. but ma isn't even looking his way.
"I know, but there's something you don't know.. dad lied about Bernard being my boyfriend then"
"What?!"
What?! Ma Gloria and I exclaimed, though I exclaimed mine in my head.
Everyone, including Mr O'Briens stared at Henry's mother curiously.. but Henry isn't surprised.
"Bernard isn't Henry's father!"
Ma Gloria and I gasped loudly, we turned towards Henry and he smiled at us in return.
Henry isn't Mr O'Briens son?! But.. but.. why did he helped them?! Or is he just being a good friend?!
"Dad sent men to kill Henry's father and forced me to make Bernard father him..."
"This..."
"Aunt, don't be too surprised" Henry said to ma Gloria. "Mom and dad..."
He cut himself off and smiled, he sighed.
"Mom and uncle Bernard are not in a romantic relationship, they just respect each other as husband and wife"
"But..."
"Oh, there's another shocker, they were never married...the marriage certificate issued to them is fake"
God! This is so much to take in, in one day!
"Maria, you can have your husband back... I just want you to know that we'll always be sisters!"
She stepped closer to ma Gloria and hugged her briefly. They both cried on each other's arms for a moment, before pulling apart.
"Henry and I are going back to India, we'll continue our lives there"
"Thank you, Gladys" ma Gloria said.
She shook her head.
"Oh.. least I forget, Henry hand the papers to your aunt"
Henry searched his mother's bag and pulled out some papers, he handed it to ma Gloria.
"You can have your father's company back, it's yours again" she said.
Ma Gloria cried as she held the papers, I had to carry Davis from her.
"Thank you, Gladys"
"Don't thank me, we're sister.. besides, this was yours right from the start"
Ma Gloria shook her head, she pulled Henry's mother into a hug and cried... After a few minutes she pulled away.
"Alright, we have a flight to catch, we'll start leaving now.. Henry let's go"
They waved us with a smile and headed out.. they've already packed their luggages.
After they left, Mr O'Briens wanted to talk to ma Gloria but she stopped him.
"We have nothing to talk about, I have a lot of things to do and I don't have time for other things now!"
"Maria, I'm..."
The door burst open and cut him off, doctor Grace rushed in and jumped into ma Gloria's back.
"Maria!" She shouted.
Ma Gloria quickly turned and hugged her back, they both started crying...
"I thought you were dead, I thought I wouldn't see you again..." Doctor Grace cried.
Ma Gloria couldn't speak, she was just crying out her eyes... I watched them with a smile.
At last everything fell in place, but I'm not happy with how Roman died easily.. if I was given an opportunity.
I'd go to his grave and make him die a million times!

Three weeks later
"Baby, it's gonna be fine"
"But..."
"It's fine, we're just here for a normal check up" Thana told me.
Ok, this is what is happening right now...
We've had peaceful days, but my health kept declining... the dizziness.. sudden cold.. vomiting and stuff increased.
Thana's been trying to get me to the hospital for check ups, but I kept refusing.
But finally, he succeeded in dragging me to the hospital, now entering the doctor's office (aunt Grace) is now a problem.
I sighed.
"I'm gonna be here with you, also, it's just gonna take five minutes and we'll be done" he said.
I rolled my eyeballs at his words, he's talking as if he's the doctor.. what a sweet talker.
"Let's go" I said.
He nodded and pushed the door opened, then made way for me to go in and he followed after me.
"Aunt" I called aunt Grace when we fully entered her office.
She closed the file she was reading and lifted her head.. she broke into a full smile when she realized it's me.
"Jasmine, you're here" she said, sounding as though she's been expecting us.
Maybe Thana informed her earlier about our coming here, she got up and walked towards me.. she pulled me into a hug.
"What took you so long?" She asked after pulling away from the hug.
"I..."
"We've arrived since 20minutes, but someone was too scared to come" Thanatos piped in.
I eyed him, while aunt Grace laughed.
"Stop teasing her!" she scolded him playfully. "Come, darling.. have a sit"
Aunt Grace led me to her big chair, I sat down and she pulled out some medical tools.. I guess she wants to start immediately.
"Thana told me you're scared of needles and stuffs..."
I nodded.. though I'm not scared of needles that much, I'm just scared to hear I'm not pregnant.. I'm scared it might be a false news and...
"... don't worry, we're not gonna take too much time. I'll finish everything before you know it, you won't feel any pains" she assured me.
I nodded.
She pulled out my hand, she rubbed something cold on it and picked her syringe...it sparkled and I quickly moved my eyes away.
"Aunt, did you get everything ready?" I asked.
I wanna do something that will take my mind off whatever she's gonna do...and it seemed like talking is the best option.
"Yes, I don't wanna waste your time, since today's your friend's engagement party" she replied.
"Thanks, I really don't wanna be late or Adele might grill me today" I said.
Aunt laughed.
Right, today's Adele engagement party, I should've been the one to do her makeup and stuff.. but she's scared of making me lose my baby due to stress.
That's why she hired a makeup artist, so I'll only attend the party and merry with her.
"Don't dance too much and don't drink any alcohol wine... not even a sip of it"
"Why?"
"You're pregnant"
"Aunt...."
"I know, you don't wanna believe it yet and that's why we are carrying out this test"
She sighed, I hissed shortly when the needle pricked my skin.

I scoffed mentally, he's not even showing any care... his phone is more important than me recently.
"Alright" aunt dragged my attention.
I realized she's pulled out the needle, with enough amount of my blood in the pipe.
"I'll go get your blood tested, then we'll know for sure if you're really pregnant or not"
"Thanks, aunt"
"I'll be right back" she said and left.
I got up from her chair and approached Thana, he's laughing at whatever he's reading.
I narrowed my eyes at him, then snatched his phone in anger.. he lifted his head and stared at me, the smile on his face faltered at once.
"Baby..."
"Do you really have to give your phone your undivided devotion?" I asked.
His eyes moved to the phone in my hand, he shook his head but attempted to take it back... I glared at him and he withdrew his hand.
"We came here together, you're supposed to stand by me and hold my hand..."
"Baby, I'm sorry but please give the phone back to me"
My brows furrowed instantly.
"Really? What's so interesting about it?"
"Em... You wouldn't understand, just hand it back"
"No" I replied and sat on the empty space next to him.
"Baby, I'm in the middle of something very important" he said.
"I don't care"
"Baby..."
"Stop babying me!" I snapped at him.
"I really need that phone right now, I can't afford to..."
I angry threw the phone on his laps and got up, then walked back to aunt Grace's chair and sat down.
"Are you mad at me now?" He asked.
Isn't obvious? Is that a question he's supposed to even ask?
I kept quiet and folded my arms on my chest, then threw my head back on the chair and closed my eyes.
"I'm sorry, but..."
I toned him off as I felt my lids getting heavier, this is what I'm experiencing lately...I always feel sleepy anytime I rest my head on something.

My eyes snapped when I heard the sound of door opening, I sat up and saw aunt Grace rushed inside.
There a very big, bright smile on her face.
"Jasmine, I knew you're pregnant!" She said.
"I'm pregnant?"
She nodded excitedly, Thana got up and approached us.
"Yes.. you're seven weeks gone!" she exclaimed.
My brain suddenly went numb, I couldn't process what she just said.
My eyes wandered to my stomach and I rubbed it gently, I'm pregnant?
She said I'm pregnant.. it's really true that I'm pregnant.. I'm pregnant!
I don't know how to react about this, I'm speechless.. utterly speechless!
I could only felt tears flowing down my cheeks, my lips quivered as I stared at my stomach.
Miracle.. this is a miracle baby!
"Baby, now you're scientifically proven pregnant.. how do you feel?" Thanatos asked me.
I raised my teary eyes and pulled him into a hug.
"I'm happy! I'm very, very, very happy! I can explode in happiness right now!" I cried on his shoulder.
He patted my back gently.
"We're having our second baby, I'm happy too" he said.
Jesus! I can't even show how happy I am right now.. but I'm very happy.
"Jasmine, you should always believe in miracles, they do happen" aunt Grace said.
I nodded and hugged Thanatos tighter, I momentarily forgot I was mad at him.

"Wow!" I awed as I walked past the candle lights and little fairly lights.
It's so lite here, it's just as if I'm Alice and I'm walking into the wonderland.
Everything is so perfectly organized, though it's Adele's engagement party.. but this is exactly my dream engagement party.
It's even more beautiful than the one I had picture in my mind, Clark must have spent a lot of money on this..
"Do you like this?" Thana asked in my ear.
"Yeah... I can stay here forever!"
If I had magic, I'd have magically locked myself in here forever and make here my home.
"Hm" he hummed.
I arrived at the entrance, immediately I stepped inside.. flowers started falling on me.
Did they mistook me to be Adele? I laughed.
I turned to tell Thana about it, only to see him on his knees and holding out a ring to me.
I frowned slightly and looked around in surprise.
Adele and Clark are standing in a corner, they waved at me. My eyes located Adele's ring finger and found it empty, my frown deepened.
"What's going on, Thana?" I asked.
Isn't this supposed to be Adele's engagement party? Why is Thana kneeling before me with a ring?
Ma Gloria is also standing in a corner, she's carrying Davis in her arms.. my parents and Mr O'Briens are also standing next to her.
"When did you make this plan?" I whispered to him.
He smiled.
"We've been making the plans together" he replied.
"But I thought it's for Adele, we..."
"Marry me" he cut me off.
I blinked, this is what people call surprise. I've been planning my engagement party with him, without even the slightest hint about it.
"Baby, I've heard people say, behind every successful man.. there's always a woman..."
Jeez! When did he suddenly became so cheesy?!
"... I want you to be that woman in my life. I know, I've made you suffer a lot, I've made you waste your precious tears on me, I've given you sleepless nights.. in fact, I'm a pest in your life!"
Everyone laughed when he said, even me, I cracked up a little bit. It's just our family and few friends here, so I guess he's not shy.
"But since you're not complaining, I'll love to continue pestering you.. give me a chance to be the only pest in your life.. please, say yes to me... Marry me, please"
"Thana... "
"I'm not perfect, but I'll do my best.. I'll make sure to always provide food for you.. clothes for you.. I'll be the best for you if you let me"
I narrowed my eyes, I leaned down and whispered in his ear.
"Who taught you these words?"
"Clark, it took me a long time to memorize them.. now don't disgrace me" he whispered back.
I laughed at me, what a clown!
"Yes, I'll marry you!" I said loudly.
He quickly slipped the ring in my finger, he got up and crashed his lips on mine.
"Aren't you supposed to kiss the ring?" I asked against his lips.
"Nope, I prefer the lips" he replied and crashed his lips on mine again.
Everyone started clapping and chanting congratulations... my family and friends rushed towards us.. but even at that, Thana didn't break the kiss.
Having the right people around is the only way to make life sweet... Life is good!
