Pastor Frank dropped his phone on the empty chair beside him as he looked at his wrist watch, wondering what was wrong.
He looked around the woman sitting with him in church.
Agnes.
“Sister Agnes,I don’t think we can go to sister Evelyn’s place again today.
I just received a call from my son right now. I don’t know but his voice sounds so urgent.
He asked me to call him as soon as I get home” pastor Frank said, packing up his Bible.
“No problem, pastor. I have this urge to go home too like….I’m feeling strange as if something is wrong somewhere.
Let me also rush home. We can postpone the visit to another time.”
Agnes said and after saying goodbye,she left the church.

“Blood of Jesus!!” Victoria continued to scream as Cassandra covered her ears tightly.
She was not able to attach her with her hands, covering her ears.
Victoria screamed her father’s name,everyone but none came to her rescue.
She continued running around the room, shouting the blood of Jesus but Cassandra wouldn’t even stop a but from following her around the room.
Victoria had wanted to run out of the room but the door was already locked!
Victoria’s face filled with tears.Her mother had taught them how to pray buy she couldn’t stand and do it.
Not when her demon is right on her trail!
Lord… help me!
Victoria was slumping to the ground….she was getting tired.

Johnny went about the houses in the street, looking for the right house but it seemed as if the right one had disappeared from the surface of the earth.
Johnny continued praying to God,to show him the way….but the heavens were silent on him.
“God! Why don’t you view me the house as you showed me who she really is!”
Johnny shouted and the few people in the street turned to look at him…they thought he was already mad.
“No…I won’t give up! People are in danger.”
Darkness was fast approaching…..he had to be fast!

Agnes ran inside as she heard her daughter, screaming.”Victoria!!” She screamed running inside the house.
The little girl still fought on for dear life!
She stopped and screamed severally again at the sight if her dead husband on the floor.
She ran to him, tears flooding her face.”Osmond!!”she screamed, shaking him all over.
At the loud scream if her daughter from the room,she leapt to her feet and ran.
She ran and flung herself at the door, bouncing inside the room.
She could not believe it… could not believe the devil-image-like she saw, following her daughter with her hands like claws.
“Cassandra!!” Agnes shrieked and ran towards her, grabbing her and pinning her hand behind her.
“Victoria,run! Run!! Go get help!! Call the pastor!!”Agnes shouted at her exhausted daughter, battling with Cassandra.
Victoria bolted out of the room screaming for help all the way out.
When she saw her father’s corpse on the floor her speed increased.
She thought she was going to go crazy.
Cassandra gave Agnes the hardest blow of her life,throwing her to ground with a loud thud.
Agnes yelled in pain, moving back at the sane time getting ready to bound the devil.
Cassandra gave her no chance,she lifted her up to her feet as if she weighed nothing and slapped her severally before allowing her to fall back on the ground,blood sputtering from her mouth,her nose.
“You caused it all didn’t you?” Cassandra laughed,her voice sounding as if thousand voices joined up in a chorus.
“You took her to mother of babies for a baby and for your own money.
Her womb was destroyed and she had me,the mermaid.
Why are you stopping me from doing my work on Earth!! I shall destroy you!!”
Cassandra roared,her eyes pure red as Agnes tried to scream the blood of Jesus..but no she couldn’t….she could not.
Instead..her eyes were closing… closing and going down!

Victoria ran out of the compound and just then Victor met her on her way out.
He was coming back from an evening lesson he attended.
He was alarmed to see his sister like that.
He g got home of her, immediately scared.”What’s wrong!” He shouted.
Victoria felt like falling against her brother but she knew she couldn’t.
Her mother’s life depended on her. She pointed towards their house.” Mummy… mummy is in danger! She’s going to I’ll mummy!!
We have to get help.! She told me to call the pastor!” Victoria said,her fave so cracked up she could hardly talk.
Victor was confused. Who was going to kill their mum?
Whatever that means,he couldn’t care for that moment. He held her hand and together,they took the race.

Johnny was getting tired. His father was already on his way in his car. He had given her direction of the street and he seemed to be familiar with every direction.
Just as Johnny turned left to walk out of the shade he was standing, Victor and Victoria cane into view and almost immediately,he heard a voice from the sky.
…. Follow those kids…the direction you seek is here….
Johnny ran and ran, catching up with them.”Wait!” He grabbed Victor’s shirt and they stopped, panting and looking at him.
His eyes widened both with theirs.
“Johnny!”Victor cried.
“We are heading to the church!Our house is on fire!” Victoria shouted,crying.
“Cassandra…..lives with you guys??…how…is..she related…?” No! Johnny shook his head. This was not the right time for that!
Someone’s life was in grave danger!
“We have to hurry! My mother is in danger!!” Victor cried.
Dad! Where are you! Johnny asked aloud in his heart looking about the road which was now becoming dark and just then,he saw his father’s car speeding up towards them.
“You have no more time,Agnes. Others are dead. Your set is gone. Why should I you still be alive…”
“I cast you back from whichever pit you are coming from in Jesus….”
“Oh shut up!!” Cassandra roared and kicked Agnes hard on her side.
Agnes couldn’t move again, wasn’t able to do anything,she couldn’t even lift a finger as Cassandra sat across her,grabbing her neck and laughing out at her bulging eyes.
“Goodbye,Aunty Agnes!!” Cassandra roared once more and held her neck tighter…. squeezing life out of her.
just before Agnes could give up the ghost, the door burst opened and Johnny with his father bounced inside,new power and energy circulating the whole room.
“Cassandra!! Stop….!!”
It was Johnny’s voice,in a very powerful commanding tone and immediately Cassandra’s hand left Agnes throat as she slowly turned… slowly turned to look at Johnny… Johnny who has set her heart on fire!!…….

Their eyes locked in a fierce light. Cassandra stood at one spot looking at him,
momentarily forgetting Agnes who layed sprawled on the floor, coughing badly till she was out if breath and almost losing consciousness.
“I knew it….the very first day you came into the class! I felt that dark power tagging along with you.” Johnny challenged.
He was determined,to cast out the spirit of mermaid using this beautiful soul.
He refused to see the real Cassandra but only focused on the evil mermaid in her.
Cassandra laughed and looked down at her long nails, glancing back at Johnny.
“You are nothing compared to me, Johnny. I will kill you in a flash. How dare you challenge me!” Cassandra roared, tightening her fists again.
“Oh you shut up,you evil creature from the Abbys!” Pastor Frank shouted equally, raising up his Bible.
Cassandra glanced at him with fury and rage.
“We shall see who shuts up!” She cried and raised her palm,
bringing it forward with force as dark thunder emerged from it, running towards the pastor.
He raised his Bible, dodging the thunder.
Pastor Frank laughed and started speaking in tongues,going round in circles while Cassandra laughed harder,raising up her hand again.
Thunder flew from it and smashed into Johnny who cried and bend in pain.
“Johnny, concentrate!” Pastor Frank shouted at his son.
Cassandra laughed the more.
Johnny was furious and angry in the spirit.
His eyes went to the medallion hanging on her neck.
That’s it….her power. If I could get close enough and pull it off then we are going to defeat her without getting injured.
Johnny said in his heart and began to go forward.
Pastor Frank looked at him,alarmed.” Stay back!”
He ordered him but Johnny continued to go forward with an heavy prayer in his heart as he stared straight at Cassandra who stopped laughing, looking fiercely at him.
“We were friends.” Johnny said softly.” We went to the cafeteria together…you fainted and I carried you home. Remember?
It’s me, Johnny.”Johnny said and Cassandra’s eyes began to soften…
and Johnny was getting close….. getting closer and closer to her!.

****IN THE OCEAN****
“NOOOO!!” Queen mother roared as she looked into the spiritual mirror, standing before her.
She banged her fist on her thrown handle, raising up to her feet.
Others were alarmed to see the fire in her eyes. She was furious! So furious!
” What’s happening!” They asked.
“She’s going to die…they are going to kill her.” Queen mother said, getting ready, getting prepared.
“She brought this upon herself but I’m going to go out there and save her. Aquaria! Take care of my thrown! I’m coming back!!”
Queen mother shouted, disappearing from the water kingdom!

Johnny got in front of Cassandra and smiled.”Yes,try to remember. It’s me Johnny and you are Cassandra.”
Johnny said and his eyes went wider as he saw Cassandra’s face, thickening again.
Before Cassandra could say anything,he reached for the medallion and pulled it down with force.
It came loose in his hand and he went back.
Cassandra’s eyes reddened and she screamed, going forward to attack Johnny when they began to fire prayer points on her.
Fire began to burn her. She screamed, screamed and screamed, grabbing at her hair,her body and clothes. She tore away her clothes, screaming so loud!
“Stop! Stop it!! I’m dying Johnny! Please help me! I’m on fire!!” She cried, trying to deceive Johnny but his mind was made up.
He opened a scripture in his Bible and poured out more prayer.
“For the world is not for you demons!! I cast you…I cast you out of this body for it is the temple off the holy Spirit! Leave!!” Pastor Frank shouted,
while Johnny twisted, twisted and twisted the medallion in his hand,to weaken her the more.
Cassandra tried to fight back to her dark thunder but she could not.
Her medallion was gone.
“Stop…. please!! Stop!! Cassandra cried. She was getting tired, weaker as she fell on her knees. The consuming fire was too much.
She was already burnt in the spirit.
They gave her no chance. They continued to fire out their prayers.
“Get the holy water and the anointing oil! Quick! It’s in my car!”
pastor Frank said to Johnny who jerked the door opened and stormed out of the room, running off.
Victoria and Victor were outside the compound, scared out of their wits.
They could not believe that they have been living with a devil for the past ten years.
They were in tears.
Their father was dead and they were not sure if their mother was still alive.
They saw Johnny rushed out and ran to the car, jerking the door open and bringing pit the required items.
He was about to rush back when Victor and Victoria rushed up to him.”
Johnny! Please,tell us that our mother is still alive! Please!” Victor cried.
Johnny panted as he looked at them. He wasn’t sure too.” I don’t know yet but God is under control!
I have to rush back now!!” Johnny said aloud, running back inside.
He rushed back inside the room, handing the items over to his father.
He looked at Cassandra.
She was still on her kneeling position,her hands tightly covering her ears.
“You demonic spirit, listen to the word of God! As soon as I pour this water and oil on you,you shall surrender and leave this body!!” Pastor Frank said in a commanding tone.
As soon as he lifted his hand to splash it on her,the air in the room began to blow heavily that it caused them to close their eyes a little. The air was powerful. It was like whirlwind!
The power in the room doubled up! The energy, almost tearing the roof apart.
Queen mother’s laughter rented the heavy air as she appeared in front of Cassandra,her large view covering her entirely.
“Aahh ahh ah!! You dare not!! How dare you hurt my child!! How dare you!! I shall destroy you…I shall destroy you…!!
Queen mother thundered and raised her hand with force. And as soon as she did that,water began to pour from the ceiling, from the ground!
Pastor Frank and Johnny held hands, closing their eyes and talking with each other in the spirit….. renewing their powers and inviting the heavenly father himself down!!
Water from nowhere began to fill up in the room.
The door banged close as the water became a flood… flooding up the room…..the whole room…….!!

Queen mother laughed out loud as the water continued to rise.
Pastor Frank and Johnny felt the heavenly power on them and began their prayers. It was a fierce one.
Queen mother stopped laughing when she felt a more powerful energy pressing down on her.
The water in the room began to dry up as Pastor Frank put his hand on the ground, binding the evil powers.
Cassandra finally fell on the ground, loosing consciousness.
“I command you to disappear! Disappear back into the ocean where you come from and never ever come back to the human world.
I’m not negotiating with you! Go back there and remain forever in Jesus name!!”
“No! No!! NOOOO!!!!!” Queen mother shouted,as she felt her power going down ,down the drain.
She screamed and vanished,her water vanishing with her.
Pastor Frank knelt down,waving his hand in the air and singing to God for giving them victory.
He then rushed to Agnes to see if she was still alive. Thankfully,she was still breathing but unconscious.
Johnny rushed to Cassandra, lifting her head and touching her cheeks. He could barely contain his tears as he stared at her lifeless face.
He looked up at his father who stared back at him, shrugging.
“Is….is…she dear?” He stammered.
“Unless she wants to be delivered…then she can live.
For now,we have killed the mermaid spirit in her but her own spirit still needs to he delivered and until that happens,I don’t think she will be able to live.”
“Of course,dad! She’s going to be delivered!!”Johnny said looking back at Cassandra’s face.” You want to be delivered right, Cassandra? Please..you have to live!” Johnny said and hugged her head to himself.
The door burst open as Victoria and Victor entered in tears.
They just saw their father downstairs,still laying on the floor,dead.
They knelt beside their mother,glad that she made it.
Pastor Frank made a call and few minutes later,an ambulance arrived.
Osmond’s body was taken to the mortuary that night while Agnes and Cassandra were taken to the hospital.

“I have one more request to ask of thee Lord…let her come back alive so she can serve you…. Lord…only thou shalt receive all the praise…let her life be save even though she has killed many. Oh God, please! Please Lord! Let her live again and this time….in your light…”
Johnny continued to pray endlessly as he sat on a chair beside Cassandra’s bed.
He stopped when her hand moved in his. His eyes opened as he stared at her face.
She slowly opened her eyes, looking around.
He could barely contain his excitement as he smiled down at her, dropping his Bible.
“Where am I?” Cassandra asked,her voice sounding so different.
“You are in the hospital, Cassandra.” Johnny replied as she looked at him.
“What happened?” Cassandra asked. She felt strange…so strange.
“You….”, Johnny stopped and breathed in. How should he explain things to her? ” You lost consciousness when we were praying.
The pastor said the mermaid spirit in you is gone and while you were still sleeping,we saw you wanted to be delivered…and you were delivered.
Right now,all you need to do is give your life to Christ. Tell me you are ready, Cassandra.” Johnny said and Cassandra’s eyes filled with tears as everything came rushing back in her memory.
How she killed her grandma,her mother, Aunty Aishat,her father,her classmates…she couldn’t seem to be able to count them all.
Fear and guilt gripped her as she rose up from bed, breathing heavily.
“What’s the matter?” Johnny asked, holding her from coming down.
“I have to go….to go far away from here. They will send the police after me!” Cassandra cried.
Johnny’s eyes were clouding with tears too but he blinked them back.”What police!”
“I’ve killed many…so many people. My dad…my….my family!” Cassandra cried, fighting Johnny’s hands so she could come down.
“Calm down, Cassandra. No one is sending the police after you. I won’t let them take you.” Johnny said softly as Cassandra stopped,tears flooding her cheeks.
She reached out and hugged Johnny,crying the more.
Three days later,Agnes was discharged and the as taken home by Johnny’s dad.
She cried endlessly when she saw her husband’s corpse. She could not believe it after hearing about all that happened.
So, Cassandra was a mermaid after all?
Agnes cried non-stop as she blamed herself for everything…for taking Esther to mother of babies.
“As a Christian, sister Agnes…we need to let go of so many things.
Try and forgive yourself and forgive Cassandra who has done so many damages. Right now, Johnny is bringing her home with a new spirit…..”
“Bringing who home, pastor?” Victoria asked, cutting the pastor short.
She had promised in her heart that she would pay for her father’s death. Infact,she has been searching for the police line.
“Victoria,calm down.” Agnes said, turning to her daughter who flared up.
“Over my dead body will I watch Cassandra come into this house again! That murderous mermaid? No,wait mum! Don’t tell me you will still let her live with us?” Victoria asked,her voice raising up at every single word.
“Victoria,as a Christian…”
“Leave Christianity out of this,pastor, please! She killed my father and almost killed me.
Not only that,she almost killed mum too!” Victoria shouted. She moved back, waving her head.
“I’m calling the police once she steps her feet in here.
I’m calling the police!” Victoria said, running back inside the room.
Agnes buried her head in her hands and started a fresh cry.
Just then, Johnny entered with Cassandra,who trailed behind him.
She stood as her eyes jammed with Agnes’s.
For a long time,no body spoke,then Victoria came out with Victor and came face to face with Cassandra.”what are you doing here?”
Cassandra’s eyes were blinded with tears. However,she promised herself not to cry in front of Victoria.”Victoria….”
“Get out of here before I call the police!” Victoria shouted.
“Victoria,I’m not here to plead for shelter. I’m here to seek for forgiveness.
Everything I’ve done….I was on a mission… mission to bring souls into the mermaid world…the water kingdom.” Cassandra said,her voice quivering.
Everywhere went dead silent. Cassandra walked and knelt in front of Agnes.
The tears she had refused to she’d in front of Victoria,came pouring down in a rush.
“I don’t even know how to say sorry..how to begin my explanation on how I killed my grandma…my mum and my dad.
The guilt is killing me right now. For seventeen years….my soul was tormented by queen mother…I always wanted to kill,wanted to destroy. All I plead for is your forgiveness.
Even though I’m going to live with the guilt forever….just forgive me so I can be free from your wraths.” Cassandra cried,her beautiful face all wet.
Victoria bent down, looking away and crying while Victor consoled her. Agnes was in tears too
Johnny was tempted to join but instead,he went to Cassandra and pulled her up, cleaning her tears away and just then, a knock came on the door.
Agnes slowly stood up, walking to the door, wondering who it was.
She breathed in and threw open the door then stopped.
Her eyes widened in horror. She could not believe it… could not believe what her eyes were seeing right now!
She flinched, moving back and shaking her head.”No…no….you! It can’t be possible!!……..
