– Episode 77*
Rose was dressing up in her room when her phone rang.
It was Norah calling so she picked it up.
– Norah: hello dearie
Rose; hi bae. Guess what
Norah: you should know am not good in guessing. Just tell me.
Rose: Basil is here and he asked me out.
Norah: wow. Did you say yes.
Rose: of course!
Norah: but what about your Edward.
Rose: my Edward? He’s not mine bae
. I am done waiting for him. Am not getting any younger.
Norah: okay my dear. Just enjoy your date with Basil. But remember , don’t drink much so you won’t act stupid.
Rose: its noted. I gotta go now.
Norah: okay bye.

The call went dead.
She was already through dressing and making up, so she walked briskly to the sitting room where the fair handsome Basil was sitting patiently.
– Basil: wow, you look beautiful (he complimented)
Rose: (giving out a broad smile) thanks . Lets get going
-he stood and held her right hand and they walked out of the room like a couple.
Soon they were at the bar.
They placed their orders and it was served.
Just as they started eating, Rose spotted Edward with a young lady sitting round a table in a short distance from them.
It was obvious Edward saw them first.
He was trying fulfill his father’s wish but had no idea that Rose will be in the same bar with her lover.
He felt his heart cracking the moment he spotted them holding hands like a happy couple.
He watched on with jealousy as they took seat together. Martina was busy consuming her food while he only drank as he glared at his ex
. he kept staring at her untill she flinched after catching eyes with him.
Rose also lost her interest in eating after seeing Edward.
He was the last person she wished to see at the moment.
And probably seeing him with another lady caused her heart to bleed.
She made him a promise and he made her a promise that they will get married to each other.
Why is he doing this to her after all odds have been passed.
She hoped that he will at least forget the past now that her father is paying for his crimes behind bars.
Thinking about him scattered his mind so much.
If only he can come to her, hug her and tell her what she needs to hear.
She will forget all her sorrows and become the happiest person on earth.
For a while, Basil watched her as she played with her spoon.
She had barely touched her food and her face was more dull than a rainy cloud. He was bothered about her sudden change of emotion
– ‘- Basil: Rose, (he touched her hand but she didn’t feel the Chemistry which she does back then when ever Edward touches her) you look sad and you have barely touched your food. What’s the problem? Don’t you like the food? You can always order for another one – (he said with a voice soft with affection. )
– Rose: don’t bother your self.
. I am okay. I just need to use the rest room. (she said then ran out before the tears she has been fighting so hard to control broke from her eyes)

Martina: Edy, you are not eating your food. What’s the problem? (Martina asked when she was done eating her food)
Edward: I’m not hungry. (he said dryly)
Martina: then you shouldn’t have ordered any food
Edward: how are we to seat in the same table with you eating while i stare at you? Think about it nah
Martina: okay. That’s not going to be a problem.
-Edward was feeling perplex all through the while Rose left. He just wished he could have at least an opportunity to talk to her. But what really is he going to tell her? Well he left that one pending.
He only need to see her that moment else he goes crazy. With that, He faked a hard cough and asked for an excuse from Martina to go to the rest room.

Rose was still crying in front of the mirror when the door opened behind her. She watched through the Mirror as Edward came in and immediately , she found her body trembling as he came closer and closer. – –

– Episode 78*
Edward: rose (he called softly as he paused at the center of the small room.
She didn’t say a word nor turn to look at him. She sniffed glueing her eyes down her skirt. )
Edward: Rose are you okay? (he asked with a voice soft with affection)
Rose: yes i am (she managed to say as she wiped the tears in her eyes with the back of her hand) what are you doing her? I’m pretty sure this is a female rest room not male.
Edward: are you sure you are okay? (he asked again ignoring her question)
Rose: yes i am fine? (she faked a smile before turning to him) sorry, i gotta be going now. (she walked passing him but at the door step, he held her hand)
Edward: Your eyes are teary
. Have you been crying?
Rose: why do you care? Aren’t you suppose to be with your new girl friend?
Edward: i was just………
Basil: baby what have been keeping you so long. I have exhausted all my effort waiting for you. (basil interrupted them as he stood at the door post where Rose was standing. With that , Edward let go of her hand glaring at them with disappointment.)
Basil: Bae ,your eyes is wet have you been crying? what’s wrong? Who is this guy ? Did he hurt you??? (basil boil being ready to fight if she confirms his hunch to be correct)
Rose: am okay basil. An insect caught my eyes.
. Its not a problem. (she started walking towards the bar leaving the both of them behind) Basil Shut a deadly glare at Edward which was described as STAY OFF before leaving.
Edwards mind blew pop corn the moment he left. He used to think he doesn’t have any feeling reserved for her but seeing her with another Guy proved his sub-conscious mind wrong.
The gravity of his feeling for her was descending on him with full force.
He felt his world would be worthless if he watch his first love vanish from him within a twinkle of an eye.
If he had known Anita will end up disappointing him, he would have accepted her the very time she showed up in his office looking so alluring and pretty.
He felt his mind leaving him as he thought of what to do.
He quickly walked back to the bar where he was sitting with Martina ),
Martina: Edward, you are acting so wield and strange.
Edward: that’s because you can’t really understand me.”
Martina: with time, i will do (edward smiled as he looked intently into her eyes.
Sadly, he didn’t see any thing beyond her eye balls which was staring at him too.
When he had looked into Rose eyes earlier , he saw love , trust , affection, future and so on.
He felt the chemistry and the butter fly was flying around his stomach but with martina, he bluntly Feel nothing )
Martina: Eddy , this one you are looking at me like this?
Edward: i was just admiring you
Martina: (smiling) really?
Edward: (smiling) yes. You are very beautiful and alluring, your eyes is charming ( she grinned broadly showing all her dentition like a fool) your nose is pointed like the beauty princess of America. (she chuckled) your lips is wonderful.
Any Guy that had a taste of it is really favoured by God
MARTINA: stop flattering me. (he took his hand to her chin and caressed it softly)
Edward: no am not flattering you. Your beauty is some thing to bow for. Your skin is as smooth as a model and your curves are fantastic. I think God was showing off his talent while he was creating you.

Edward: i don’t know what you and my father is upto, but i think its proper to let you know that i am not in for that. My heart belongs to some one else. Please bear with me.

. (Martina’s face dulled up immediately with anger)
Martina: your heart belong to someone else? Is it Anita? How long will it take you to accept the fact she is gone? She is no more yours!
Edward: its not about her
Martina: then about who?
Edward: keep your voice down, you are causing a scene
Martina: don’t dare tell me that. Who then do your heart belongs to if not her?
Edward: for now all i have to say is that my heart belongs to some one else. (before Edward could finish his statement, he received a slap from her which drew the attention of every one in the bar to them,)
Martina: so you brought me here to tell me jargon? Keep that story for your self ! Useless Human *being* . (with that, she picked up her purse and walked out of the bar, Edward was left holding his cheek painfully as all eyes glared at him.
Some people in the bar recognized him and started snapping him.
That was going to be another set of news the press will carry out again POPULAR MUSICIAN EDWARD BEING DUMPED TWICE BY A LADY IN A RESTAURANT.
When he couldn’t bear the embarrassment again he angrily settled the waiter and stumped out of the bar.
And drove home.
On entering the sitting room, the first thing he encountered was a slap from his father on the same cheek.
That was definitely the first time the old man was raising his hand on him) Johnson: how dare you do that to her? (edward was still in the shock of the slap he received
. He was dumbfounded for a while watching his father yell at him)
Johnson: Didn’t i tell you its improper to break a lady’s heart? Did you know how broken that young lady is right now? Did you know how she cried when she called me? Don’t you have a guilty conscience in you??? Why did you do that to her? – (the more he screamed the more Edwards heart swelled up like a balloon and at length, it busted through his mouth)
Edward: because i don’t feel any thing for her! I don’t love her!
Johnson: but she loves you! You just broke her heart! Its not right for a gentle man like you!
Edward: oh come on dad , Spare me that lesson! Don’t claim to be perfect when you’re not. Are you not the one that had abandoned my mum in pregnancy? Don’t you think that it broke her heart at the highest rate? Dad if you love her, why not go ahead and marry her? I rather have her as a step mother than a wife (after his mean words, he went up the stairs to his room leaving Johnson behind to ponder on all he said.
After all, his son was right.
You can’t remove the dust in someone eyes with out removing the stone in your eyes first.
He broke Helen’s heart because he was too weak to fight for her back then .
He isn’t perfect so he shouldn’t be lecturing on being perfect.
But then, he wouldnt love any of his child to repeat the same mistake he did.
He sat on the white couch and cupped his jaw inbetween his hands as he thought of what to do.

It was now two days but the incident at the bar were still fresh as a fresh vegetable to rose.
Each time she close her eyes, she sees Edward.
At work she didn’t even concentrate , she wondered how he managed to have effect on her in such a way.
She can’t stay alone with out hearing the echoes and re-echoes of his sweet voice in the rest room.
When she looked into his eyes, all she saw was sincerity of affection.
She kept pondering on what he was up to at that bar. Could it be possible he still have feelings for her? Why did he break up with her? Could there be possibility of him getting back with her? What if he comes and ask for her heart again just like he did on the st. Valentine day in secondary school? All these question ran down her mind with out an answer.
At length. She caution her self that her thought were all illusions.
Basil will soon propose to her and she is going to say yes.
She kept thinking until she heard a knoke at the door
She withdrew from her bed and went to the door of the sitting room.
– Rose; who is that? (their was no reply.
She Turned around thinking it was for her neighbours, when she heard the knoke again, She quickly went to the door and opened it.
To her greatest surprise, she saw Edward standing in front of the door.
His two hands were hidden behind him like he was hiding some thing. And her heart skipped double beats.

* Rose: Edward what are you doing here so early this morning? (she asked when she had found her voice)
Edward: i came to see you
Rose: why?
Edward: at least let me in first (with that she stood beside the door and watched as he walked in with the rose flower on his hand. he sat on the couch and she also sat on a couch opposite to him.)
Rose: what is it that brought you here this morning ( he cleared his throat first thinking of the best way to table his speech)
Edward: i came to say thank you
Rose: for what?
Edward:for your kind gesture
Rose : i don’t get you
Edward: i made my self a promise to reward the unknown doctor who treated me after i escaped from kidnapping with bullets in my leg and hand
. Its unfortunate that you happened to be the unknown doctor.
So i was thinking of repaying your generosity.
Rose: smiling in mockery) wow is that so? That’s very good of you. Medicine after death is a complete wrong prescription.
Edward: i don’t get you
Rose: raising her voice) did you need to get me? When i ask you to drop the charge against my father for my reward did you heed to that? (Edward faced the tiled floor timidly. He wanted to say something but all the words he knew vanished away.)

Rose: you humiliated me in your office because of your ex lover! As if that wasn’t enough, you fired your innocent Secretary because she informed you that i came to see you! So what kind of reward do i expect from you now? Flower? Doctors are not paid with flowers! (at this junction, tears flowed from her eyes
. Edward was deeply sad, he went on his knees immediately)
Edward: please forgive me. I know i was so mean, but sits action that brings reaction. You know i have gone through a lot and all changed me. I am now ready to make a change please hear me out.
(he began to walk with his knee to where she was)
Edward: i was having a very Bad day the day i fired my secretary. I told her i want to be left alone but she won’t follow my orders thats why i sacked her. I never knew you are the one looking for me.
(she stood up and made effort to walk away from him when he was close enough to her but he held her hand)
Edward: i am really sorry for all. I promise to amend my ways. I can no longer pretend i don’t love you when i know deep Down in me that i Love you more than ever.
(their was tears in his eyes too. She was puzzled for a while after hearing what he said)
Rose: Edward i waited so long for you to come back to me but you didn’t. I rejected so many friend requests from different men because i was Hoping to be with you. I swallowed my pride and came to your office to tell you my feeling but you rejected me several times and it Broke my heart.
Edward: that is why i am here to make amendment. Just tell me what i need to do to earn your forgiveness
(she now turned to him and helped him to his feet.)
Rose: just leave through that door. Go home and concentrate on your new lover because it’s too late to start seeking for my heart. Some one else have it now.
(his heart scattered on hearing what she said. The pain he felt in his heart when Anita left him didn’t measure up to the one in his heart now. )
Edward: i don’t have a lover!
Rose: well it has nothing to do with me.
Edward: rose please listen to me. If you reject me like this, i will …
Rose: you rejected me several times. When you are done, just make use of the door.
(with that, she left the sitting room and went into her bed room. She collapsed on the bed and began to weep. Did she really say those mean word to him? Her heart was banging her chest painfully for her to realise that she has acted against her wish. She had long been hoping he would come to her and now he did , she had chased him away. Her inner goddess kept blaming her and reminding her that he is the Man her soul longed for not Basil. Soon, she heard the door opening slowly and then closed.
. It was then that it hit her head that she is about to loose him forever. she quickly stood on her feet and started walking around the room muttering to her self.)
Rose: what do i do? I need a solution, What do i do?” (when she couldn’t control her self any more, she ran to the sitting room. He was not there but his flower was still there on the table. She took it up and read the short message. I CAN NEVER STOP LOVING YOU ROSE. Her heart blew pop corn after reading it. She dropped the flower carefully on the table and ran to the door. She went down the passage but their wasn’t a sign of him. She ran down the stair case to the compound and there she saw him entering his car.
Rose: Edward! Wait!! (Edward turned back and saw her running to him and before he knew what she was upto, she had pressed herself into his body in a super tight Hug.)
Rose: i love you
Edward. I can’t stop loving you too.
