dandy went to mr.titus and they began to discuss together jovially.
– Dandy: sir i noticed that your company is having a little bankrupt.
Mr. Titus: yes, our expenses last month was higher than our income.
Dandy: and that is why i want to make a proposal.
Mr. Titus: what proposal?
Dandy: if you let me marry your daughter, you won’t have problem with money. I will make sure to pay all your debts

. Titus: really! If so go on. I give you all support.
– Then dandy gave a little deadly smile to himself and then his phone began to ring. He took excuse to answer the call.
– Dandy: hello, what’s up, is it done? Phone caller: perfectly sir.
Dandy: okay you know where to meet me. I will be there soon with your money phone caller: okay sir, i am waiting.
– Then he cut the call. As dandy turned to go back into the house he was surprise to see rose staring at him.
– Dandy:asked nervously) what’s that?
Rose: nothing. I am just walking to my car.
– Then she walked passed him. He then began to wonder if she heard his conversion.

As Helen was busy preparing dinner, Sandra rushed in calling.
Sandra: ma’am Helen! Ma’am Helen!!
Helen: (rushing out of the house) what is it!
Sandra: (painting) haven’t you heard what happened? Edy is now in the hospital. A group of boys beat him mercilessly.
Helen: (surprise) what!!! Her heart skipped two beats then she continued
. Tell me you are joking.
Sandra: how can i run all the way here just to lie to you. Come on lets rush to the hospital.
Helen: okay wait let me get ready.
– Then she rushed inside and in no time , she was out as both of them headed to the central hospital. as soon as they got to the hospital, they saw Charles who was one of their neighbours.
. He was walking from one pillar to the other looking troubled. He saw when those boys was beating Edward up so he rushed up to his aid and attacked them chasing them away from him. He used his bus to take him to the hospital when he realized that he was in the bridge between life and death. Main while he sent Sandra to inform Helen about what happened before they went to the hospital. On seeing them, he said.
– Charles: ma, a group of boys wanted to kill Edy today. In fact he was almost dead.
Helen: but why???
Charles: i don’t know. I just saw them landing a heavy stick on him so i rushed with my own stick and chased them away.
Helen: thanks any way. But i don’t know what is wrong with Edward, yesterday morning i saw him beating up some one and today a group of boys got him beaten Charles: cuts in) not just beating but to the point of death. Helen: (crying) oh God, save me from all these.
– Sandra walked up to her and started consoling her.
– Helen: so where is he now, can i see him?
Charles: no, the doctor said that no one is permitted to see him now. Just then the doctor walked in and they rushed to him
Helen: is my son okay?
Doctor: ma calm down
Helen: how did you expect me to calm down? Please is he alright.
Doctor: i am sorry madam. Your son is..

doctor: i am sorry madam, your son is in critical condition right now.
His brain is affected as a result of shock which damaged the memory by the heavy stick they used on him.
He would wake up soon but the problem is that he is having an amnesia. Helen: i don’t understand what you are taking about!
Doctor: your son will wake up soon but for now, he losted his memory.
Helen: what!!! , can i see him now??
Doctor: yes. – Then he left as they all rushed into the ward to seen him motionlessly on the bed taking a drip.
Charles: thank God
. He is going to survive.
Helen: i hope so
Sandra : it is only that he won’t remember any thing about us again.
Helen: that’s very sad.
Sandra: but i am sure he will recover quickly.
-Then Charles brought out Edwards phone from his pocket and gave it to Helen. At last he said.
Charles: mam Helen, i will be on my way now, its getting late.
Helen: okay, thanks very much, God will richly bless you.
Charles: okay, thanks. Then he left.
– Soon it was Monday (two days after the incident) Helen was busy preparing food for Edward who was still lying in the hospital.
When a car entered into the compound.
It was Thomas who had came to pick Edward so they could travel for the music trip. He came down from the car, went to the door and knoked
. After some seconds, Helen opened the door and he greeted immediately
– Thomas: good morning ma. How is everything?
Helen : every thing thing is good but the most important one is bad.
Thomas: i don’t understand ma. You are speaking in riddles
Helen: Edward was hospitalized since two days now and up till now he is still unconscious.
The doctor said he lost his memory.
Then she began to sob as Thomas got irritated.
Thomas: very sad) but what happened, tell me that all this you said is not true..
Helen: its all true.
. He was beaten by a group of boysooo
Thomas: why?, did you know those boys? They deserve to rot in jail.
Helen: i dont know them i did not even see them.
Thomas: ma’am, i am going with you. I Can even drive you there Helen: okay wait for me let me get the food i prepared for him.
-Then she entered into the house and in no time, she was out and looking dressed and with a bag at her right hand then she followed him to his car after locking the door. Then they drove to the hospital. Not up to 5 minutes after they left, Rose drove into the compound and was surprise to see not even a single soul in the compound. She was so disgusted and filled with sadness as she asked her self several questions like ”what is going on?, did Edward travel with out saying good bye? Why is his phone switched off since two days ago?” and so many others question she asked with out an answer. She checked and knoke at the door of the house again to see if she can see even if it is his mother but no one was there. She had no other option than to go back with a broken heart.

As soon as they got to the hospital, they saw Edward pazing round all the corner of the room. Helen was very happy and delighted to see his eyes open. She rushed to him immediately and gave him a tight hug with tears. Thomas just stood beside the bed as if he was a guard to them looking at them in pity.
Helen: i am happy you survived. She managed to say after the hug.
Edward: where am i ? And who are you?

Edward: where am i ? And who are you?
– Helen was not surprise at all because the doctor had already told them that he lost his memory so she was expecting a question like that.
. She answered dearly and softly
– Helen: i am your mother and here is your friend Thomas.
– Then thomas said sadly:
– Thomas: the both of us suppose to be travelling this morning for a music trip to prepare for our show coming up in three weeks time
. And here you are lying on the bed in a hospital and worstly you lost your memory. What a tragedy.
– Edward was surprise and it was obvious that he can’t hide the surprise in his face. He asked immediately
– Edward: what is my name? Am i a musician?
Thomas: yes you are Edward. you have the spirit of singing in you.
Helen: and your name is Edward but we do call you Edy.
Edward: Edward! Wow what a wonderful name i have. But how did we have a show together?
Thomas: you forgetted every thing Edward. We stared singing together in secondary school
. Then we are popular because we sings and dance at the social gathering. Our name is THE EXPLOITS and it earned us a lot of popularity.
Edward: (heating on his head) ooo Edward, why did you have to forget? Infact, what brought me to this hospital?
Helen: i am really the one that should be asking you this in normal circumstance. By the way, a group of boys attacked you with sticks.
Edward: for what? What did i do to them? Helen: how did you expect me to know? Thomas (angrily)and if i ever found out the people who did this, i swear with my whole heart, they will pay dearly for it.

Helen: by the way, i brought you some thing to eat.
Then she deeped her hand in the bag she came with and brought out a small mini cooler and then, she opened it and wanted to feed him but he refused .
– Edward: dont worry, i can do that my self. Helen: no way! Come on, cool down and eat.
– Helen insited then he had no other choice than to comply . As she was busy feeding him, sandra came in.
– Sandra: good morning ma’am Helen, he is already awake.
– Then she moved toward them and continued as soon as she sat on the bed: – Sandra: ma’am, excuse let me do that.
Edward: (asked immediately) who is she.
– Then Helen handed the spoon over to her then answered Edward
– Helen: she is Sandra, one of our neighbour
. Their house is right opposite ours.
Sandra: oh Edy, the doctor was really right, your memory just formatted and you need to install every thing that was saved there again.
– Then all of them began to laugh.
Soon silent enrolled the room after their laughter. Helen broke the silent by asking a question to Thomas
– Helen: so what are you going to do about the show?
Thomas: i don’t know, may be i should just forget about it and focus in making Edward recover fast.
Helen: what! Thomas: it is of no use for me alone.
. I haven’t sang alone on stage before
. It is always me and him so i think i can’t do this alone
Helen: (looking serious) now listen to me, believe in your self that you can do it, you can and will. May be after the show, he might be in good health to join you okay?
Edward: yes , is true.
He added to encourage him
Thomas: okay, i will try . (He agreed and continued as he stood up) i will be going now , i promise to be coming around as regular as
Helen: okay, thank you so much
Edward and Sandra: good bye
as soon as he was out Edward said
Edward: Sandra, its okay i am no more eating. Sandra: okay then. Just then Helen brought out edward’s phone and handed it over to him and said Helen: here is your phone. It was down so i charged it for you yesterday.
Edward: okay, thanks mum. Around evening, Helen went home to prepare something for him to eat leaving him and Sandra alone
Edward: hei don’t you have any thing to do other than looking after me ?
Sandra: i just feel like doing it Edward: and why? Sandra: em… Em..
– She tried to answer but was interrupted by the ringing of Edwards phone. He checked the caller and it was rose.
– Edward: referring to Sandra) did you know is Rose?
Sandra: no i don’t. Just pick up the call.
Edward: i am scared to pick it Sandra: okay, let me answer the call then...
