– Episode 21*
its been two days Edward and Rose ran away together.
They lived happily with Dora who was a friend to rose.
Their happiness knew no bond but not until Edward got a call from his mother.
He was having a good time in the swimming pool with Rose when she called.
He thought his mother was calling to ask him how he was doing but the reason behind the call was definitely far from that.
He picked the call and was extremely surprise at the way her mother spoke. He then knew that nothing is well at all.
She was talking like some one who is going to die the next minute.
Her voice was so sorrowful ,tearful and faint
. How ever, She said to him.
Helen: son where are you now is rose with you?
Edward: em..em..em..(hestammered) Helen: please son take her back to her father please this minutes……….
– As he tried to reply his mother, the next voice he heard was a very hard and angry bass voice which roared at him like a hungry lion.
He knew it rose’s father now.
_ Mr. Titus: how dear you run away with my daughter. Are you out of your senses. Look, if you don’t bring back my daughter in the next 3 hours, i swear that you will return to meet your worthless mother’s corpse. And bear it in mind that i will search for you and if i dare get you, i will kill you my self.
_ Then he disconnected the call angrily smashing Helens phone on the cemented floor and it breaked in pieces
. tears dropped down from his eyes after the call , it was then it downed on him that Mr. Titus has attacked his mother.
– Rose noticed the passionately sad look on his face then she asked.
– Rose: hei sweet heart, what’s wrong.
– he then reached her both arm and said sadly
Edward: rose we have to go back, you have to go back to your father else, he will kill my mum.
Rose: what!??? Are you joking,
Edward: did i really look like some one who is joking? Come on, pack lets start going. Rose: now!
Edward: come on. He gave me a time duration. He said within the next 3 hours and i can tell by my mother’s voice, she is really in deep pains now. Lets go ahead.
Rose: why not wait till tomorrow?
Edward: oooo! U don’t understand the situation here. Come on lets go. He screamed despreatly like a wounded lion
Rose: but wait a minute, did you admit that you were with me (he remained silent.) i can’t, but if permitted i will call you a fool.
Edward: getting angry) yes i know i am a very big fool.
. I know it! It is not right for me to run away with you, yet i did it because i am a fool. I know i am always foolish and you are always right!
Rose: raising her own voice) you acted like a fool because you foolishly admitted that i came along with you. Didn’t you know that every body is now in danger here. You, your mother and i, we all are in danger!
Edward: and the best way to stop this jeopardizing it more is for us to go back home right now please. Rose: aren’t you afraid? He might get you beaten again.
Edward: i don’t care, its better i die than my mother! . Just then dora joined them dora: what is going on here?
Edward: look dora, please help me tell rose that we have to leave this place now so my mother can stay alive.
Dora: surprise) what is going on, i don’t understand. Some one should brief me. (then Edward explained every thing to her.) omg!! Rose i think you guys should start going now..
Rose: (sadly) okay. I am sorry for lack of understanding.
Edward: its okay. Just go and pack.
– In no time they are set to go then jumped into the car and drove off.
– On their way, they got holded by a severe traffic.
Now it was Obvious that Edward began to panic as he check his wrist watch time after time.
They did spent upto 1 hour and thirty minutes their in the traffic hold up yet they are not half way home. Immediately they got out of the traffic to a free road, they drove with a high speed which they almost got into an accident.

- Episode 22*
_ They got to their destination right on time and jumped down from the car and as soon as they entered the house, they *were* surprise with what they saw.
Helen was lying helplessly on the floor.
There is blood on her nose as she struggled to breathe hard.
Beside her was Mr. Titus who sat on the old sofa angrily and his gang stood around like soldiers
. Edward rushed to his mother crying.
Edward: mum! Mum!!
Then Mr. Titus angrily stood up and commanded those boys.
Mr. Titus : deal with him! Then as the boys ran forward to Edward who was trying to help his mother, Rose took an iron behind the door which is use to lock the door. Then ran forward and angrily strike it on one of them hard on his scole then he fell down unconscious. Then the rest steped back.
Rose: any more movement? She yelled angrily at the boys who were terrified and afraid to come near. Main while Edward held his mother up and began to cry bitterly.
The rest of the boys stood amaze thinking of what to do.
Just then one of them rushed out to her and on reaching, she swing the iron near to his face then immediately he applied an automatic brake to his speed then ran back to the others.
Mr. Titus went behind her and held her firm from behind giving the boys opportunity to attack their victim.
One of them collected the iron from her hand and held her firm then Mr
. Titus serviced her with a slap saying.
Mr. Titus: you know that you are just a fool.
The other boys got Edward and tried to beat him but Edward did not allow them because they were just 2 in number.
The first threw a pounch at him but be dorge it giving him a double correct blow the next one tried to kick him but he seized his leg and pulled it roughly causing him to loose his balance as he fell on the floor.
Mr. Titus collected the iron and striked it on him from behind then he fell down. _ _ as soon as he fell down, the boys grabed him and began to beat the hell out of him mercilessly this time with full anger driven by Mr. Titus command and revenge.
He could hardly move him self when they left him. Mr. Titus went to him and began to kick him .
– Mr. Titus: foolish boy , i warned you to stay away from my daughter but you won’t listen, you just have a very good luck that i forget to take my gun along with me. I would have driven the bullet into your empty naughty brain.
_ Then he stop and faced his daughter who was yelling at them all through the time to stop beating him.
– Mr.
. Titus: you just made me realise i have been weak over you.
Therefore for what you did, you have terminated your freedom.
From now on i will have my eyes on you.
YoU just started disrespecting because of this non-sense boy. (looking at the boys.) come on lets go.
– Rose tried to free her self but she couldn’t. looseing herself from the strong grip was a very difficult task.
She just kept struggling as they dragged her into the car and they drove away from the compound living Edward and his mother to their faith.
– Inspite of the severe pains he is feeling all over his body, he managed to get up, run out and called for help. When sure he had gotten enough, they rushed back to the house and took his mother to the hospital.
She was rushed to the emergency ward so she can have immediate attention. She was laid on the bed as they were waiting for the doctor to arrive. She then began to paint heavily as she tried to tell Edward some thing. Helen: edy eeeedy…. Your father…
Edward: (cuts in) take it easy mum. The doctor is on his way Helen: i am sorry, your …. Dad your….(she stops) and fell back to the bed after touching the diamond chain hanging on Edwards neck.
Helen: keep it safe son. Then she died with eyes wide open.
when Edward saw that his mother is gone shouted
Edward: nooooooooo!!!.

– Episode 23*
Edward cried bitterly as he kept on shaking his mother.
Just then the doctor came in and checked her temperature with his testesstcop, then feeled her porse and then recommended that she just kicked the bucket. It was like a horrible dream for Edward as still he could not accept the reality that his beloved mother is gone forever.
He ran out of the hospital toward the gate and angrily smashed his fist continuously at the pillar as if he wants to blow it down.
Just then Charles saw him and ran forward to hold him so as to stop him from hurting himself.
– Charles: stop that, stop that now!
– Edward: yelling angrily) live me alone! Live me alone!! I will make sure titus pays for what he did to my mother!
– Charles: yes i know he must pay.
But The death of your mother did not mean your end.
Please stop this now!
Edward: (still struggling to free him self) nooooooooo!!! I won’t stop it.
Then Sandra entered the hospital and saw their drama then joined them.
– Sandra: can some one tell me what’s going on here?
Charles: his mother just passed away and he is trying to hurt him self.
Sandra: what!!! That Edwards mother died?. What happened to her?
Charles: his girl friends dad beated her to the point of death
. He also gave him some beating as well.
Sandra: what did you mean? That some one have a heart to beat an old lady. for what?
Charles:( getting angry) this is not the time to ask foolish questions. Just help and calm him down.
Sandra: okay.
. (She went to Edward and touched him slightly.) his temperature is high. I think he needs to see the doctor.
Charles: that was what i did suggested.
Edward: live me alone. I don’t need any doctor.
All i need is to see that God forsaken bastard and strangle him to death.
He managed to get loose from Charles grip then he angrily ran out of the gate furiously heading to Mr. Titus house.
* What a poor boy. Suffering the death of his mother being the only relation he had all in the name of love.
Charles and Sandra knew where and what he was up to.
They knew pretty well that if they did not do any thing to stop him, he might end up like his mother so they ran after him with the highest strength so that they could catch him up but he was far more faster than them.
He entered a bike immediately.
Charles taught of going back to get his car but waved it off because he would not catch him up.
They stopped a cyclist and entered his bike telling him to follow Edward. For about 10 minutes, they still can’t catch up with them.
Edward settled the cyclist as soon as he got to Mr. Titus gate.
Then he went ahead to knoke when Charles and Sandra landed.
Charles ran toward him to stop him while Sandra settled the cyclist.
He made it on time.
He had almosted knoked at the gate when Charles got hold of him again.
– Edward: shouting angrily) that man must pay. I swear, he must pay.
– Then Sandra joined them.
Sandra: it is true he must pay but not right now not like this and not with this your health.
Trying this now will make you end up like your mother so please let us go. After all i am so very sad about your mother’s death. She was also like a mother to me i really love her.
– All those words she said made a positive impact in him. He calm down and began to weep as others consoled him.
At last, they all board a car and went back to the hospital so the doctor can check on him.
When after the doctor had carried out a medical check up on him, he confirmed he was suffering from a serious fever so it won’t be possible for him to go home even till the next day.
It was a good thing that they took him to the doc on time if not he wouldn’t have bothered to see the Doctor.
Sandra and Charles took his company and cared for him as if he was on of their family member.
– After two days, he was discharged Charles paid for his hospital bills and took him home.
He went and and buried his mother behind the house Kurt like that because he had no one to help him in her funeral.
He always drop flowers there every 2 hours that passe..

Edward just came back from work to see a car in their compound. He knows who owns the car so he ran inside the house joyfully to meet his mother and Rose together preparing dinner in the kitchen. He went straight to them and gave the both a hug at the same time because they were standing together.
– Helen: how is work today?
– Edward: happily) mmmh, guess what happened.
– Rose: you got a lot of patronage
Edward: far from that.
Helen: (out of patient) what is it i can’t wait to hear the good news.
Edward: i won ten million Naira! He exclaimed happily
Rose: what!!! Is this a joke ?
Helen: you just came home to kid us today.
Edward: no i mean it. Just then a car entered the compound and they rushed out to know who it was
. As soon as they got out, a man came out of the car and handed the keys over to him saying: Mr. Edward, the car belongs to you.
– Edward, Helen, Rose: what!!! They screamed out of surprise:o
Man: i was sent to hand this Nissian 4runner jeep to you
Edward: wow! This calls for a celebration.
They brought out a bottle of wine and each got a glass of it. Immediately they tried to make a toast, the ringing of his phone zapped him off
. He had been dreaming until the ringing of his phone waked him, ” who the hell could disturb my wonderful dream so early this morning?” he queried him self with out an answer till he got hold of the phone to notice it was rose. He picked the call and placed the phone at his Right ear then kept quiet for rose to talk first. *
Rose: good morning Edy, how are u?
Edward: i need not to pretend as if i am fine when i know quiet well that i am not okay.
Rose: i am sorry for what my father did. How are you? I mean your health.
Edward: i am okay rose: how about your mother?
Edward: few tears dropped from his eyes) she did not make it.
Rose: what did you mean?
Edward: shes dead, your dad killed her.
Rose: what!!!! i am very sorry.(tears dropped down from her eyes aswell)
Edward: i need to see you can we meet?
Rose: i don’t think its a good idea.
Edward: what did you mean?
Rose: i think the best option for us now is to break up. (then tears rolled down her eyes)
Edward: wait a minute. I hope you don’t mean it. Tell me you are just kidding me.
Rose: no i am not. Please move on your life with out me.
Edward: tears rolled down his cheek too) we need to see each other so we can talk about it. Rose: no need to do that.
Edward: getting angry) okay fine, but one thing i will promise you is that your father must pay for the death of My mother. Then he cut the line and began to cry. Rose at her own side did not mean to do what she just did but she has to in order to save his life. Main while his father now have every control over her. He made those goons to watch over her day and night as her body guard and provides him with information about her way about. Now she was forced to love Dandy and reject Edward who was her true and only love. . . After some days, Sandra visited Edward as usual and this time around with a card. She sat on the old sofa looking at the card over and over for so many minutes. Edward noticed her and asked .
Edward: hei Sandra, what happen to the card? You have been staring at it all day : Sandra: don’t just bother.
. . . He tried to come close to her but she stood up and changed position.
Edward: what’s wrong with you and that card.
Sandra: i guess you are not going be happy with it so forget about the card.
Edward: why? I don’t understand you oo
Sandra: its better you don’t understand me happily than understanding me with anger. Trust me, you won’t like this card so forget about it.
Edward: did it has to do with me? Sandra: no more questions!
Edward: i must know the content of that card. . . He said and rushed to her. She tried to hide the card but he was more sharper and stronger. He snatched it away from her then stared at it. Immediately, his mode changed, he became very upset boiling with anger on seeing the content of the card. .
